Is DSM checking SN for video conversion?
Dfds replied to princerock's topic in Packages & DSM Features
Synology's video station doesn't support DTS playback, you will need to install FFmpeg or use something like Plex. -
Yes you should set the bios to boot from the USB first.
-
Just let DSM create the raid array & you’ll be fine.
-
Sounds like you may need to recreate them under the new user account.

@Lefteris Krasias That card has a Realtek chipset which isn't supported in 6.2.2 you need one with an Intel chipset, something like a HP NC360T which has been confirmed as working.

Hi Matthew, welcome to the forum. In short no it's not safe to click update. The N54L will run 6.2 BUT yyou will need to create a new USB drive with jun's 1.03b boot loader, disable the internal NIC & add an intel network card in order to make it work. There are a couple of threads regarding the N54L which I suggest you have a look at if you want to upgrade, however unless you need to run 6.2 my advice would be to stay on 6.1

It won't work as 918 includes instructions that require a recent intel chip.

***HELP***
Dfds replied to jancell's topic in General Installation Questions/Discussions (non-hardware specific)
If you follow the second tutorial you don't need to boot into DSM, boot into a live Ubuntu USB & delete the system partitions then reinstall whichever DSM version you want. -

New installation on HP ProLiant Microserver Gen8
Dfds replied to asaf's question in Answered Questions
3615 is generally more stable on a wider variety of hardware. -
Try booting from a live Ubunto USB.
-
The one that most people with Gen7 microservers seem to use is the HP NC360T. Don't forget that you'll need to disable the onboard NIC & DS3615XS image is recommended as it seems to be the most stable.

Have you flashed the bios to enable AHCI mode on the 5th sata port?
-
Some information regarding what hardware you're using might help you get some answers.

You can run DSM 6.2 on the N40L with jun's 1.03b loader, but you'll need to get a compatible intel lan card. Several forum members have had success using a HP NC360T nic. If you search the forums there are a couple of threads that would be worth checking out.
