    DSM 6.2 Loader

Several members, including myself have successfully updated a N54L to 6.2 with juns 1.03b loader.

    DSM 6.2 Loader

@6688 Please ensure that you post in English in future, I have edited this time.
  3. Yes that will work, however you will need to make some config changes to enable SHR ON 6.1. You'll need to disable C1E support in the bios & download jun's 1.02b loader, don't forget to set the correct vid & pid of the USB stick. Once up & running to enable SHR you must ssh into server using something like putty & edit /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf, this file is readonly so enter following command: sudo -i vi /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf comment out/delete supportraidgroup="yes" then add support_syno_hybrid_raid="yes" Once done reboot the server & you should be able to add your 3TB disks into the volume once you transferred all the data.
  4. The N54L will run 6.1 using jun's 1.02b loader quite happily, just remember to disable C1E support in the bios.
  5. Insert your USB stick into your PC & run diskpart from a command line, type select disk to show connected drives, type select disk 1 if thats your USB, type clean all to remove ALL partitions on the disk. You can then format as normal. Just make sure you select the correct disk.
  6. If you have a real synology why not use that, I would have thought a DS1512 would be more than adequate to run the latest version on surveillance station.
  7. Just a thought but have you tried it without a keyboard attached? I only attach one to mine if I need to make any bios changes.
  8. Removing all the other entries should mean that it doesn't require further input. Yes it's great that the N54 still works with Juns new loader as it's still a good little server.
  9. Glad you're up & running again. To get around the issue you could edit the grub.cfg file on the USB stick & remove all but the 1st menuentry (the baremetal one). Also I don't know if you've seen but Jun has released a new loader for 6.2, it's still beta but it does work with the N54L as I've done a test install on my server.
  10. @GBKev Jun has released a new loader for 6.2 which you could try, it is however a beta version & i would recommend trying it with a spare disk first. Howver you can downgrade to 6.1 by following the instructions in this post.

    DSM 6.2 Loader

@jun A fresh baremetal install on a HP Microserver Gen7 N54L seems to be working ok. Many thanks for your hard work

    DSM 6.2 Loader

@sunshine This is still beta at present, my advice would be to try this on a separate HDD to ensure that your system will run ok before trying it on your live system.
  14. Just keep an eye on the forums, hopefully Jun will come up with something.
  15. Follow the instructions in the link I posted & you should be able to recover your system.
  16. @mike118118 6.2 is not currently supported on the N54L.
  17. The N54L has a AMD cpu & is therefore not currently supported on 6.2 as Jun has only created a loader for the DS918+ model which seems to only run on late model Intel cpu's. There is a way to downgrade to 6.1, follow the instructions in this thread
  18. No problem, hope it sorts the issue.
  19. Yes it was the Bay bios, I'm using it too, & no it's not something that you can check through Synology, it has to be done via the bios by booting & pressing F10.
  20. Uninstall the existing version then download the older version & manually install it. 2.4.0-1505 can be found here: http://archive.synology.com/download/Package/spk/VideoStation/2.4.0-1505/VideoStation-x86_64-2.4.0-1505.spk

  22. @TemplarB It might help if you say what version of Video Station you're having issues with, I'm running 2.4.0-1505 without issues & I believe 2.4.2-1561 is the latest version.
  23. @blue max The N54L will run 6.1 ok, I have one running 6.1.7 at present. Did you disable C1E support in the bios as it won't work unless you do.
  24. When asking for assistance please say what hardware, loader & DSM version you're using.
