    DSM 6.2 Loader

Hello. Help needed! I built the server: ASRock Z390 Pro4 with Intel® I219V INTEL S1151 Core i3-9100 DDR4 16GB 2666MHz Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8TB Western Digital WD82PURZ * 6 pcs. I use 1.03b loader for last DSM_DS3615xs_24922.pat (vid, pid, mac, s/n I edit). After loader loading, the server is not visible on the local network. What can I do to get this configuration working? Thanks.

  6. Hi i have running fine with LSI LSI 9207-8i and a 2 port 1G card. But recently I changed the network card to a X550-T2 10G card, it caused the LSI crashed or not detected. If both are in, my hdd and volume will not show. but the 10G interfaces all ok. If I removed the 10G card, the LSI is ok. If I run the synology on top of esxi 6.7 I can detected both card. But after i passthru them, the LSI will crashed after sometime and become not passthru again. I changed to run bare metal, as long as the X550 card is in, my volume cant be detected, I only managed to get it detected once but after reboot is gone again. Any idea? how should I troubleshoot this? - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.2 - Loader version and model: v1.04b - 918+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - mb: asrock z370m pro4 cpu: i7-8700 LSI 9207-8i X550-T2 network card Additional comments: volume not detected, LSI not working after change to X550-T2.

    DSM 6.2 Loader

Hello, community! Happy New Year! Can you advise me! I am confused with bios and with network interfaces. I am considering two motherboards ASRock for a new server. These are: ASRock Z390 Pro4 and Z370 Pro4 with the Intel® I219V network interface. I will use the 1.03b loader. Will these motherboards work without problems (BIOS, LAN)? Will they start working the first time? Thanks. P.S. Recently, I installed DSM 6.2.2, and then U4 (loader 1.03b) on Dell 790 with the Intel® 82579LM network interface without any problems. Started working the first time, installing DSM from the Internet.
  8. @The Chief прошу помощи. Asrock H370 Pro4 + i5 9400F + 2x8Gb DDR4 2666 Hynix + Samsung 970 EVO Plus nvme SSD

  14. Long time user of Xpenology under ESXi on older hardware. Started a new baremetal build with new hardware and thought I'd share my experiences. Haven't been able to find anyone using the B365 chipset so thought I'd give it a go and report on functionality. CPU = Intel i5-9400 Motherboard = Asrock B365M Pro4 Micro ATX RAM = 16GB HyperX Fury 2666Mhz (2x 8GB) NIC = HP NC360T PCIe (Dual Intel NIC) USB = Sandisk Cruzer Fit 8GB Will be recycling old hardware in but not there yet, just validating new hardware. HBA = LSI 9201-16i 16 port PCIe (IT mode) Hard Drives = 8x 3TB Seagate Enterprise Drives, 4x 256GB SSD (Brand escapes me at the moment) Case = Fractal Node 804 The Good All basic functionality worked, out of box. Using 918+ 1.04b loader booted and performed install, no issues. UEFI boot works. Patched to latest build via GUI without issues. Powers off, reboots and WOL all working perfectly. (Had issues on some old hardware) Cold boots fast with no delays. (have read other experienced long boot times) Didn't need to tweak BIOS settings at all for first boot. I did subsequently go back and tuned some BIOS settings as follows. Disabled onboard NIC (I219V, knew it wasn't going to work), disabled onboard audio and wifi/bluetooth (no module installed anyway), disabled C1E state. CPU temp is monitored in Xpenology (Have had issues before with some hardware reading sensor) Seems to have full fan control with all options available but requires further validation. Again hasn't worked with some older hardware I've used but that may not be surprise to other users. CPU/Cores recognised and report accurately thanks to FOXBI's "ch_cpuinfo.tar" mod. VMM works and detected CPU & core correctly. Quick built a Win server 2016, powered on and booted fine. I only ran it for about 15 minutes but looked and worked well. With MB, CPU, RAM, PCIe NIC Card and 1 SSD connected and booted to Xpenology, seems to idle around 20w power usage but will confirm with more accurate meter. The Bad Onboard NIC is not recognised. As with all newer motherboards, the Intel I219V is not recognised, I knew it wouldn't, but have a stack of old PCIe Intel NICs so no issue for me. Hardware transcoding looks to be an issue. Cannot get /dev/dri folder to appear. Have done some BIOS settings with the GPU, to no avail. Have tried i915.alpha_support=1 in the GRUB file to no avail. To be fair, there seems to be little info on this setting and I'm probably putting it in the wrong location. I will troubleshoot further and advise. Was really a nice-to-have for me as I run separate Intel NUC for Plex, which handles the transcoding role well. That's probably it for now, from a couple of hours testing last night, so pretty pleased so far. If people are interested, I'll continue to update thread as further testing and commissioning occurs. Cheers.
  15. I've just built a new box with an Asrock H270M Pro4 motherboard Intel x550-t2 I had issue's at first with the system crashing when transfering small files it turn out to be the firmware was v1.0 the card is supported but only with updated firmware. I got the card to work with bootloader 1.02 1.03 & 1.04 but if you use the ds918 I was unable to change the mtu so the transfer maxed out at 279 Mbps this is with 6 hdd's in raid 6 with 1.03 and ds3615 I get 540 Mbps.
  16. Hi, Sorry for my noob question I really try to find out answer via serach bar but I still cant figure out how to get HDD Health info in XPEnology. I am runnung 2 virtual systems running in VMware 6.7 build on Juns loader 1.04b DS918+ properly but I cant figure out how to get health disk info from drives. I build both VM by Tutorial: Install DSM 6.2 on ESXi 6.7 and have latest version of DSM there... only diferences are drives controlers : 1.system passthrough LSI SAS3008 9300-8I flashed to IT mode. 2.system passthrough motherboard SATA controller from ASRock Z370M-ITX/AC (SMART enabled in bios) For both systems I m not able to get this info. Could you please help me what I should check or explain me why its not possible? I would be very happy for any answer or advice. PS: sorry for my bad english.

  18. Hello, Thx for the new version. Not work on my configuration 😢 Loader 1.04b DS918+ DSM 2.2.2-24922 Update 2 ASROCK Z370M PRO4 - i5-8600K
  19. I'm not quite sure on the period of time, but after I got home from work today, when I tried to connect to my NAS, the normal URL redirected to me a white screen. I tried using a few different browsers, but nothing. Synology Assistant couldn't find the NAS and the I couldn't access the contents of any mounted folders in Finder. I was able to see the names of my shared folders, but each folder showed 0 files. The same thing happened over the weekend as well. After doing a hard reboot, everything works as it should, and the notifications don't mention anything other than an improper shutdown from the hard reset. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks! CPU: i5 7500 MB: ASRock H270M Pro4 Version: 6.2-23739 RAID: Dell H200 Perc Loader: Jun's 1.04b DS918+
  20. First off, thanks to all the help I got in this forum! I haven't messed around with much yet, but the system seems to stable so far! CPU: i5 7500 MB: ASRock H270M Pro4 RAID: Dell H200 Perc Loader: Jun's 1.04b DS918+ I used this tutorial as my main point of reference. Xpenology Tools really made things easier as well! The few minor hiccups I had... - when flashing the H200, I used this tutorial, but got stuck until I stumbled onto this reddit thread. - when making a bootable USB with FREEDOS mentioned in the tutorial, my motherboard detected 2 boot entries on the USB, one UEFI and one USB. The UEFI takes you to the shell, the USB takes you to FreeDOS. - I couldn't find the MAC address through DOS/shell, but found that most manufacturers print it on a sticker on the edge of their board - be absolutely sure your NAS has a network connection when it comes time to install. B/c of the location of my NAS/workstation/monitors, I tried to share the network connection from my laptop via ethernet and couldn't for the life of me figure out what I couldn't see the NAS. Found out my ethernet port on my laptop is bad after hooking up a 30ft cat5 cable from the router in the living room to the office.

  23. Salut !
