  1. No fix, the dsm image no longer supports Intel Clarkdale cpu's so you are limited to dsm 6.1, you should be able to get it to work if you build your own driver or see if someone has already made 1 available. it wasn't worth the trouble for me as it's an old system I had lying around I used for testing. Sorry I couldn't be more help
  2. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3617xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock Z270M Pro4 | Intel i7 6700t | intel x550-T2 | 16GB Corsair Ram | Syba 4 port sata card - Additional comments: No trouble.
  3. Thanks for the response but I've sorted it, I ran anti virus and got an improper shutdown message so stressed the server and was able to repeat it, turns out it was an issue with the ram. Thanks for the response.
  4. I decided I wanted to move to 10gb so built a new box mostly parts from my existing xpenology bulid except a new case, motherboard, psu and a intel x550-t2 nic and a couple of ssd's, I added an asus xg-c110c into my main rig and I used a direct connection to the nas from my pc. I have set the intel nic to 9000mtu and matched the asus nic, large packets enabled in windows 10, amended smb advanced settings in smb services on the box and set the smb protocol to smb 3 (max) and smb 2 (minimum). I have updated the windows 10 host file for the direct connect. The nas has 6 wd reds in raid 5 with 2 crucial 250gb ssd's in a raid 1 cache. when I transfer files from a sata ssd the transfer saturates the sata 3 connection transfering large files to an nvme is just over 900mbps. My problem is transfering large numbers of small files, I was transfering 740gb of small files approx 5mb to 10mb each from a backup drive just a 3.5 inch hdd. Using the 10gb connection it gets to approx 300 to 400gb in and then it loses the connection, both boxes have good airflow and I installed fans to blow air over the nics so there not overheating and the transfer speed is only 150mbps anyway, I tried it 3 times and each time it just drops the connection. If I use the 1gb intel nic it works. Large files are no problem I put nearly 7tb on in 1 go with no issue's on the 10gb connection. This is on loader 1.02b ds3617xs the latest dsm 6.1 update. Can anyone help as I've run out of idea's, thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks to everyone that replied to this I appreciate it, all sorted now and thanks for your help.
  6. I have never had a problem with adding a let's encrypt cert on loader 1.04 but I installed a 10gb nic and I had issue's with 1.04 and 1.03 it's been rock solid on 1.02 this is the only issue apart from not being on DSM 6.2. I get the message "The operation failed. Please log in to DSM again and retry" The box is on DSM 6.1.7-15284 Update 3. I have ddns set up in the router I have also tried it under external access in dsm and it returns normal, i have tried with my firewall rules running and with the firewall disabled in dsm, I have dos protection auto block and account protection all enabled. I have tried it with and without redirect to https. I have also gone with and without http compression, modern and intermediate compatibility for tls/ssl cipher suites. I use a vpn client but I have tried with this enabled and disabled. port 80 and 443 are forwarded. I am able to access my nas using the domain, I am currently using the synology cert but would prefer the lets encrypt. Any ideas how to solve this.
  7. I've just built a new box and used an intel x550-t2 I had issues with the system crashing and had to trouble shoot in the end it was the firmware on the card. I updated to the latest and it works fine. I tried with bootloader 1.02 and 1.03 I settled on bootloader 1.03 with ds3615 and it works well. 6 hdds in raid 6 for large files I get 540Mbps unencrypted share and 480Mbps with encrypted. I think the x540 is just plug and play. I'm not using a switch I have a peer to peer connection had to amend the mtu to 9000 to match my pc to get the full speed.
  8. Yes I have a 4 port card in my system works fine on 1.02 1.03 1.04 bootloader
  9. I've just built a new box with an Asrock H270M Pro4 motherboard Intel x550-t2 I had issue's at first with the system crashing when transfering small files it turn out to be the firmware was v1.0 the card is supported but only with updated firmware. I got the card to work with bootloader 1.02 1.03 & 1.04 but if you use the ds918 I was unable to change the mtu so the transfer maxed out at 279 Mbps this is with 6 hdd's in raid 6 with 1.03 and ds3615 I get 540 Mbps.

  12. Hi again, Adding the extra.lzma makes it worse I know get the splash screen but it does not show on the network previously I could connect but it would not detected hdd's to install dsm. This is the first time I've used the extra drivers so I have listed my process below please let me know if I'm doing something wrong thanks. 1) Mount the image partition 0 15MB and updated vid pid s/n & mac 2) to add drivers mount partition 2 30MB and replace the existing extra.lzma with the new extra.lzma. 3) dismount I've check I did not leave in read only and have remounted both partitions to make sure the changes were saved. If this looks right let me know if you have any more suggestions. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the quick reply I'll add the driver extension to the loader and see how I get on I'll let you know either way. Cheers
  14. Hi again, Set as ACHI the drives are recognized on all ports using dsm 5.2 loader ds3615xs 5.2-5592.1 and 6.1 loader ds3617xs loader 1.02b using loader 1.03b drives are not recognized so I'm unable to install dsm. Anything else I could look at would be appreciated I'd like to get it running on this system before I try on my main rig. The only thing I've done different on this install to usual is convert the image file to an iso file as I can never get xpenology working using the image files I always have to use an iso file normally I download 1 but this time I could not find 1 so converted it myself. Just to check it's not this that is causing the problem I converted an image file of the 1.02b loader into an iso and it worked fine so I don't think me converting the image is the problem.
  15. I didn't get as far as trying to install the pat file as it won't detect a hdd so it does not give me the option to select the pat file to install the os but the file I have is 6.2/23739. It's the boot loader stage where I'm stuck. Also the hdd's I'm using are all formatted. I've tried different ports and 3 different hdd's with no luck. when I switch back to 1.02b loader it finds the drive's and gives me the option to install dsm. Thanks.
