Das hängt vom Board bzw. vom Prozessor ab, der den Speichercontroller beinhaltet. Ich habe aktuell ein Asrock Z370 Extreme4 (Sockel 1151 V2 mit 8 SATA onboard (+ 2 x JMB585 Karten)), darauf einen Pentium Gold G5400. Der unterstützt ECC und meine 8 GB Ram ECC laufen entsprechend einwandfrei. Den kriegt man sehr günstig bei Ebay, weil ECC irgendwie gemieden wird - obwohl er auf aktuellen Boards meist brauchbar ist. Aber "müssen" tut es kein ECC Ram. Es kann auch normaler sein. In another test today I ran the script I successfully built apollolake-7.0.1-42218 DS918+ on my z370 i5 8600K on Proxmox 7.01-2 Could you clarify do extensions need to be run before or after a build? hello i5 8600k and asrock z370 pro4 I made a clean install with loader 1.04b used v0.13.3 for 6.2.3 by IG-88 and zImage, rd.gd files from the DSM_DS918+_25426.pat ... all 4 files. After restarting on install process it loaded with DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 directly. All good ... but is an ERROR: "System internal service [D-Bus, firewall:firewall_service_opt_bonjour, Quota helper daemon] failed to start. Please contact Synology support for assistance." SOLUTION ?? P.S. -ls /dev/dri command responded ok (card0 renderD128) -grep "MHz" /proc/cpuinfo command show all 6 cores -cat /usr/syno/etc/codec/activation.conf command no good ... {"success":false,"msg":"SN format is wrong."}

Richtige Herangehensweise in meinen Augen. ;o) Ich habe ein Z370 Board mit Pentium Gold, die Performance als NAS ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Allerdings stehe ich gerade an dem Punkt, dass die Kiste gemessene 40kWh monatlich frisst (trotz "nur NAS" und SpinDown). Das sind dokumentierte 9% des Gesamtstromverbrauchs unseres 4-Personen-Haushalts.

Ich hab's ganz einfach gemacht: mein Board ist ein Asrock Z370 Extreme4 (Sockel 1151 V2). das hat 8 SATA onboard Gab's über Ebay für 50,- EUR. CPU ist ein Pentium Gold G5400. Ebenfalls über Ebay. Irgendwas um die 30,- EUR, meine ich. 8 GB Ram,ebenfalls Ebay. Kostenpunkt weiss ich nicht, aber nicht mehr als 20,- EUR. Die Kombi läuft super leise und sparsam. Inzwischen habe ich zwei SATA-Karten nachgerüstet: https://www.ebay.de/itm/283674013314 Ende August hatte ich noch 17,- EUR pro Stück bezahlt (inkl. Versand). Laufen einwandfrei. Alles inallem hat die ganze Kiste keine 200,- EUR gekostet (mit Gehäuse und Netzteil). Da ich einige der Teile noch aus vorherigen PC-Basteleien übrig hatte, waren es unter'm Strich vielleicht 100,- bis 150,- EUR. Gehäuse ist bei mir übrigens ein Chenbro RM41416, das Netzteil ist ein normales 350-Watt be quiet! mit 80Plus. Von jetzt möglichen 16 Platten habe ich 9 in Gebrauch. Kleiner Insidertipp: Ich nutze aktiv den Disk SpinDown zum Energiesparen. Wenn die Platten gleichzeitig anlaufen würden, könnte das das Netzteil an die Grenzen bringen. Das Gehäuse und seine Backplane bieten ein hardwareseitiges "sequential spin up". Das Gehäuse lässt in Hardware die Platten alle kurz nacheinander hochlaufen. Funktioniert fantastisch.

Hey, i'd like to set up a new NAS. For my purposes, I would like to install 4 SATA HDDs an 2 SSDs. the server is used for file storage (at least 2 Users), media server and as NZB client. I would like to use Chenbro SR301 case, which recommends using a mini-ITX mainboard. What do you think? Which Mainbors should be used? Asrock C236 WMI with Pentium Gold oder i3 CPU? Or a more actual Z370/390? Any hints? Thank you in advance

Доброго времени суток. Хочу поделиться своей ситуацией. Текущий конфиг: QNAP TS-509, 4Gb, E2220, 5 HDD*2Tb (RAID5+single disk). Использую DDNS QNAP, BTSYNC (resilio), Qdownload, Plex, доступ через мобильные приложения, бэкапы. Производительности для моих задач хватает, но потенциал для апгреда исчерпан. Установить более мощный CPU и систему х64 на моё железо не удаётся (пробовал шить разный биос и QTS). Сейчас упёрся в ограничение платформы х32: не поддерживается актуальная QTS (прилетают только обновления безопасности, с последним пакетом возникла проблема совместимости), не поддерживаются актуальные пакеты Plex, позволяющие удалённым хостам стримить через браузер,- решил, что настало время для апгрейда. Задачи для апгреда: перейти на более мощную платформу, которая будет поддерживаться производителями ещё долгое время, сохранить удобство, функциональность и простоту настройки проприетарной OS, в идеале повысить надёжность хранения файлов, добавив поддержку ZFS/BTRFS. Покупку нового QNAP, Synology не рассматриваю из соображений стоимости за производительность и отсутствия поддержки ZFS/BTRFS. В данный момент рассматриваю вариант сборки сервера с 6 HDD в корпусе FD NODE 304 (корпус приобрёл). Кажется неплохим вариантом подобрать гипервизор, в котором развернуть 2 VM, VM1 - Xpnology, VM2 - FreeNAS. VM2 исключительно для обслуживания ZFS массива на 5 дисков, который будет подключен к Xpnology по iSCS. Основной функционал, в том числе Plex, развернуть на VM1. С точки зрения ресурсов это кажется немного нерационально. Раз уже под ZFS нужно выделить больше мощности, то и Plex имеет смысл развернуть на VM2. Но с точки зрения удобства мне бы хотелось минимизировать работу с VM2. Какие мысли про такой конфиг? Есть ли более оптимальный вариант кроме отказа от ZFS/BTRFS и использования исключительно Xpnology? Что можете порекомендовать по железу (ASRock H370/Z370 или что-то ещё, CPU) и гипервизору? Буду признателен за ваши ценные советы.

The other end of the link is a CentOS 7.4 server. If I ifconfig down the interface, the link lights go out. When I up the interface the lights come on. I could do this all day. What am I doing wrong? I edited the grub.conf with my mac addresses and changed the nic count to 3. I've played with changing round the order of the MAC addresses BUT I CAN'T BRING THE 10g INTERFACE UP! Help?

These are: ASRock Z390 Pro4 and Z370 Pro4 with the Intel® I219V network interface. I will use the 1.03b loader. Will these motherboards work without problems (BIOS, LAN)? Will they start working the first time? Thanks. P.S. Recently, I installed DSM 6.2.2, and then U4 (loader 1.03b) on Dell 790 with the Intel® 82579LM network interface without any problems. Started working the first time, installing DSM from the Internet.

Question: Does the ds3 617xs 6.2x recognize an M2 card in a z370 chipset (current MB) if the MB allows this as bootdevice? A test showed me: An M2 module mounted on an old MB on a PCI card is not recognized. Of course, could not be set in the BIOS as a boot device.

Hey Fellow Xpen-ers, I threw together a system from left over parts I had from my latest VR build, and I was lucky enough to get ASUS to replace my fried Prime Z370-a under warranty which basically landed me a 1-generation old spare parts build. Tried for a few weeks last month to get the boot loader and DSM to properly work before I discovered I had a USB virus messing with all my systems. So a month later I am proud to report final success! I can now trash my Netgear ReadyCrap NAS that's given me nothing but grief. Here is my final hardware/boot/DSM build: Loader: jun v1.02b (DS3615xs) DSM: 6.1.7-15284 Update 3 CPU: Intel i7 8700k stable @ all core 5Ghz Mobo: ASUS Prime Z370-a Primary LAN: Intel® I219V, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller Secondary/Tertiary LAN: Dual Realtek Rtl8111e SY-PEX24028 Gigabit card RAM: 32 gig DDR4 3200 (16 - T-Force Xtreme | 16 - Corsair Vengeance Pro) GFX Card: Radeon RX 560 4GB (though I'm not yet sure she will actually run in the system) HDD: 3 - 4TB WD Red and 1 - 4TB Seagate Barr. MISC: 16gig Intel Optane m.2 (which from what I can tell is working) Now I finally get to play with the fun parts of this project!

If the low-power CPU appeals to you, provided you can cost-effectively source a "T" CPU they can make sense, but it may be cheaper to just buy the lowest-performance "K" CPU available instead and underclock/undervolt it using a Z370/Z390 board. The result will be essentially the same.

Вопрос: будет-ли работать хрень на новейших чипсетах? intel z370 в частности. не покидает меня идея собрать "идеальную хрень") тем более, и полностью удовлетворяющую меня мат. плату нашёл - GIGABYTE GA-Z370N-WIFI. плата с 2 лан-портами на интеле и 2 полноценными м.2 слотами с поддержкой NVMe. добавляем эту плату (уже идёт...) и получаем 6 портов sata 6 gb/s и 2 e-sata. плата должна работать с хренью... получаем хороший задел на будущее. ну и процессор к такой компании соответствующий, Intel Core i3-8100, а не селерон как планировалось ранее. что скажете?

Frage: Erkennt das ds3617xs 6.2x eine M2 Karte in eimem z370 Chipsatz (aktuelles MB) wenn das MB dies als Bootdevice zulässt? Ein Test zeigte mir: Ein M2 Modul auf einem alten MB auf einer PCI Karte montiert wird nicht erkannt. Konnte natürlich auch im Bios nicht als Boot-Device eingestellt werden.

Добрый день. Я в теме NAS новенький. Всегда мечтал себе домашнюю файлопомойку. Сначала присмотрелся к Synology DS218, затем к 718+, затем к 918+. А потом мне на глаза попался чей то пост на ixbt что ему надоело возиться с самосбором DSM и он себе купил 918. Я начал наводить справки и обнаружил проект xpenology. На выходных удалось запустить на подручном B250 + i3-7xxx проце jun' 1.04b - 918+ хреноложи и теперь руки зачесались еще больше. Кароч есть хотелка собрать на проце i5-8400T (уже заказал с амазона) собрать miniITX билд который планирую держать на рабочем столе (хотелось бы тихо и относительно охлажденно). Пусть чуть дороже но качественно и с запасом. Что-то покрутить руками на выходных + приоткрыть двери в этой, новой для меня области. Мать думаю из H370/Z370/Z390 с 2 LAN портами (выбор не большой. там 3-5 вариантов, в основном Asrock, Gigabyte). Тк проц ожидается 35W TDP (или 25W в каком-то пониженном режиме как я понимаю) то думаю в качестве куллера использовать что-то пассивное типа Arctic Alpine 12 Passive. Хотелось бы собрать ящик потенциально под 4xHDD 3.5" (думаю про WD RED 4TB). Памяти наверное 8гб DDR4 одной планкой. Обдувать это планирую с помощью Noctua NF-A20 PWM на маленьких оборотах дабы теплый воздух не стоял в корпусе. Корпус же планирую сделать саморучно. Возникает вопрос с блоком питания. Я так прикидываю. Потребление: Проц (25-35W? ,берем 35W?) Мать + память (10w?) HDD 3.5 около 5W? каждый. Итого примерно 65W. Как я успел нарыть в сети есть несколько вариантов: 1) юзать обычный ПКшный блок питания. Возможно есть на рынке что-то 100-200W которые могут не сильно греться и вообще не юзать вентилятор? К примеру на домашнем ПК юзаю Corsair RM650x который при потреблении до 40% мощности и низких температурах не крутит кулер. 2) юзать чтото типа HDPlex 300 / 400W платки + внешние (похожие на ноутбучные) блоки питания 3) визуально простенький блокпитания низкой мощности. Как мне подсказывают коллеги по работе, при старте системы на 4 hdd 3.5" дерьмовенькие блоки питания будут просаживаться что не есть гуд, и подталкивают к варианту 1. Обращаюсь к вам как к опытным людям прочитавшим/потрогавшим в этой области за советом. Как правильно, тихо, не горячо, и надежно реализовать питание такой системы. Заранее благодарен.
