  1. As stated in the OP it seems you can. An intel NIC is needed though. Would I do that? No. I do not recommend using DS3617xs. It has shown countless times to have issues. You can search the forum. I would stick with DS3615xs.

  3. You ought to detail your post if you want some help.
  4. Yes that is possible but technically I think you still need to use a network even if both OSes are installed in the same machine. DSM will not allow access to its GUI other than through a network connection, therefore some sort of router is needed (either virtual or physical). Please correct me if I am wrong.
  5. Nope you can't. You only have 2 hours to edit the post. That's how the system is set. Also please use the spoiler tag when posting very long logs. Thank you.
  6. Have you read this in the DSM Update Reporting section?
  7. @Sam Poon Your post has beed deleted. You are new to the forum and thus I would suggest reading before posting. This section is only meant to report update outcomes. Read the READ ME topics at the root of this section.
  8. Empty all caches on computer and mobile.

  10. Hello, As prescribed by the forum rules: Could please inform us what were the changes made to that file? Thank you.
  11. Personally I don't think disabling the admin account is a good idea despite what Synology says. Don't quote me on this but I think that the default admin account has specific privileges that even a newly created admin account with full privileges will not have. Hence why they are suggesting disabling it. My suggestion is keep that admin account but change the password to a highly secure password.
  12. Honestly I am unsure what is causing the problem. I am thinking a cache issue. How were you able to log in?
  13. According to my research the problem is not DSM but MAC OS. Here is what I suggest. Open Finder and go to where the directory you want to copy to your NAS is. Then press "Command + Shit + ." (dot). That will show all hidden files within MAC OS finder. Now browse your directory and sub-directories. If you see any .AppleDouble, .AppleSingle files or @eaDir directories they will need to be deleted. They normally are the source of the error 50 you are seeing. If you see many of those files and you have loads of sub-directories then you can do this in one go through Terminal, otherwise you can delete them manually. If you use Terminal then you can issue the following commands: Change directory to the directory want to copy: cd [directory-path] Now check in which sub-directories the files are. find . \( -name ".AppleDouble" -o -name ".AppleSingle" -o -name "@eaDir" \) If those files are present you will see a list of paths. Now you can delete the files: find . \( -name ".AppleDouble" -o -name ".AppleSingle" -o -name "@eaDir" \) -exec rm -rf {} \; Deletion is permanent so be very careful you are on the root of the directory you want to work with otherwise the search will expand to wherever you are. Alternatively you could explicit the full path of your directory: find \[directory-path] \( -name ".AppleDouble" -o -name ".AppleSingle" -o -name "@eaDir" \) find \[directory-path] \( -name ".AppleDouble" -o -name ".AppleSingle" -o -name "@eaDir" \) -exec rm -rf {} \; Obviously, replace [directory-path] with the actual path of the directory. To hide hidden files simply press "Command + Shift + ." again. If you are unsure of something it is better to ask first.

  17. Indeed there isn't specifically one tutorial that lays out the upgrade process from DSM 6.1 to DSM 6.2. There is a good reason for that. It's not required because it basically is the same process than from going from DSM 6.0 to 6.1 or for that matter from DSM 5.2 to 6.1. All that changes is the loader and DSM version. That is it. In fact a few months back I blindly started making the tutorial, but I soon realized it would be redundant with all the information already available and it would keep people in a state of dependance and ignorance. I rather have people search and understand what they are doing rather than spoon feed them. I too was a noob at some point, same like anyone here but we all learned by asking and exploring. If you had spend some time reading at least the FAQs to understand how this whole thing works I am pretty sure you wouldn't have seen the necessity to say the above. As for the rest, I think @flyride has spelt it out rather politely and I suggest more humility when asking for help. It usually entices call for help.
  18. I believe the loader link is working fine. Look at the mirror.
  21. Bonjour et bienvenu au forum. Non cela ne sera pas possible malheureusement.
  22. Hello and welcome to the forum. First I would suggest a read of the FAQs. This will provide some updates on how the new loaders works and in general will provide some general background. Please also check the DSM Updated Reporting section. Note that up until DSM 6.2 you should be fine with a bit of tweaking (disable C1E in Bios). Starting DSM 6.2.2 you will need another NIC (intel preferably) as the one in your N54L will not work. Also you can have a look at the tutorials I made (see my signature). Have fun.
