Not really a discussion we want to have here. I believe @flyride has clarified things as well as the rules and the FAQs of the forum are clear on the matter.

@deesnow Are you sure you are on DS3615xs and not on DS3617xs? If yes then I would suggest a clean install on a separate drive and make some testings. If this web GUI stopping is not something predictable or happens once in a while it could also be hardware related or a corruption of DSM. Although I did a tutorial on how to upgrade from DSM 5 to DSM 6 I think it best to start a clean install of DSM 6 because loaders pre-DSM 6 are structurally different. In any case try testing with a new drive see how that goes.

If you have an .xpenoboot directory somewhere in the root of DSM I strongly suggest you delete it. Simply SSH in the box and issue the following command: rm -rf .xpenoboot Will save you some headaches.

Just to comment about Quicknick's loader. I actually helped Quicknick debugging his loader for several months but he decided at the last minute not to release it for fear of legal reprisal. The person hosting that page with Quicknick's loader was supposed to provide a secondary/mirror hosting platform for him, as Quicknick and I were working on the main hosting solution. Unfortunately as mentioned above Quickinick decided against releasing the loader and that mirror hosting never removed the links, which in my opinion is wrong.

DSM offers 2 free camera licences and prevents you from adding more than that in SS (Surveillance Station). If you need more than two cameras, Synology sells licences but because you are using DSM on non-Synology hardware even if you buy those licenses you would still be infringing the EULA. This said you are already running DSM on non-Synology hardware so it's really up to you. One important note though. You would also need to have a legit Serial/MAC pair for the licences to work, so that's that. Just be aware that because of what I just stated above Synology does not offer any support and if you loose your licenses for whatever reason then Synology will ask you to provide your SN for recovery and obviously they will realize you are not running a genuine Synology. Therefore I advise against it. For reference. He knows what he is talking about as he had to deal with the bitterness of loosing his licences.

No have but you can convert the .img file to .iso yourself. At least that's what I do to use the loader with VirtualBox. I am working on MAC so for me it's just a matter of using the Disk Utility, converting the .img file to a .dmg file and then renaming the extension to .iso.
