  1. @bearcat My little finger tells me he wants it as a server but I could be wrong. @norbert A quick Google search gave back the following results: https://github.com/runfalk/synology-wireguard https://www.reddit.com/r/synology/comments/a2erre/guide_intermediate_how_to_install_wireguard_vpn/

  3. Try with the hard disable flag: synoservicecfg --hard-disable pkgctl-Serviio synoservicecfg --hard-disable pkgctl-java8
  4. Try this: synoservicecfg --status pkgctl-java8 if status is 'enable' and is 'start' then: synoservicecfg --disable pkgctl-java8 Do the same for Serviio: synoservicecfg --status pkgctl-Serviio if is status 'enable' and is 'start' then: synoservicecfg --disable pkgctl-Serviio Restart your machine by issuing the following command: reboot Try logging through GUI again.
  5. Try the following command: Htop This will give you the CPU activity in real time and show you if there is anything running heavily. Should point to the right direction.
  6. You probably have some rogue application feeding some directory with dump data. What packages do you have installed?
  7. Well I believe that tutorial I made is rather explicit on the matter and if you read you will see many people have updated their N54L. After the upgrade don't forget to delete the .xpenoboot directory that will be located in the root of your machine. Simply SSH in and delete it. That is a reminiscence of the old xpenoboot loader and will create problems if left there. Since you are running an AMD based machine make sure you have the C1E disabled in the bios if you upgrade else it wont work. If you decide to upgrade beyond DSM 6.2 (DSM 6.2.1) then your will also need an Intel NIC. People use the HP NC360T and works fine. Install it before the update. I suggest reading the threads in here: https://xpenology.com/forum/forum/78-dsm-updates-reporting/ As for the above comment, all versions will have bugs and patches following discovery of the bug. This brings me again to the link posted earlier. Read this sub forum: https://xpenology.com/forum/forum/78-dsm-updates-reporting/

  10. You need a domain. You cannot have a certificate with a DDNS unless you are able to set a TXT record on the domain which usually is not possible with DDNS providers.
  11. You should never remove the usb key else you will not be able to boot the machine if you reboot DSM.
  12. To the OP. Please provide detailed information on your hardware, loader etc. Without it we cannot help. Also I would suggest reading the rules and FAQs. Uppercase use is not tolerated specially in the title. Quote form the rules:

  14. Try disabling the firewall in DSM to check if it's DSM blocking access. This said looks to me that your issue comes from either your network configuration (check your router) or your VMWARE configuration.
  15. By « codes » I suppose you are talking about VID/PID and MAC address. Those only have to be added once unless you change the usb key.

  17. No it's not. You can use 1 drive if that's your wish. This said, if that drive dies/get corrupted then you could potentially lose your data but also your server will be offline until you get a new drive. RAID is not designed for backup but for performance and data redundancy or even both.
  18. I know this is more of a question for Synology itself but thought I would ask here. Does anyone know a way to delete logs partially/selectively from the Log Center or elsewhere for that matter? I have the feeling it's not possible as the logs are initially stored in a database and unless fiddling with that DB it's just no possible. Thanks.
  19. In case you really need to have your actual CPU show you can use this tool: Keep in mind that it will not survive updates and you will need to apply the patch again.
  20. You said you changed those in the synoboot.vmdk. I should have interpreted that as in the grub as indeed SN and MAC are not in the synoboot.vmdk. If the second VM is receiving the same IP it's clearly because the MAC address is the same in both VMs. Check your router and refresh the IP address attribution list. Check the Grub file again. Clear your cache as well.
  21. Yes it's possible. Did you modify the MAC address in the Grub file?
