DSM 6.x.x Loader

Recommended Posts

Currently on ESXi 6.5, on a virtual DS3615xs. I certainly wouldn't mind if someone made an OVF template one day, with this (or higher model) server, with built-in 6.1.3-15152-1 Update (or upgradeable to it).

Just to report in - I have an Intel Pentium G4560, Asus Prime B250M-K motherboard and 8GB RAM running the DS916+ 1.02b loader in baremetal config. It's running DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 1.

The same hardware was previously running  DS3615XS 6.1.3-15152 Update 1 with loader 1.02b perfectly fine, but I decided to migrate to DS916+ image today to see if I could make use of the hardware transcoding abilities. At this stage, I can't get hardware transcoding working as there is no /dev/dri/ folder present. lsmod run from root returns the following:

I'll keep testing and report back if I manage to get hardware transcoding to work.

I am currently using VMware EXSi 6.5 on a VM with DS3617xs on DSM 6.1.2-15132, all working fine. When trying to update to DSM 6.1.3-15152 using the autoupdate it immediately fails with "Unknown error occurs (21)" and returns me to the un-updated GUI. I have also tried a manual update, after downloading the file "DSM_DS3617xs_15152.pat", manual update also immediately fails with "Unknown error occurs (21)".

How can I update please?

Still can't update, what could be the issue with "Unknown error occurs (21)" ?

Hi everyone,

i wanted to update my baremetal diskstation from DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 11 to latest version using 1.02b loader from jun.

I followed polanskiman's tutorial and changed the extra.lzma ramdisk with the one polanskiman provided in his tutorial. But now when i boot with the flashdrive it reboots everytime. I hook up a monitor and i can see that it shows the "normal" screen with the "happy hacking...go to find.synology.com...extracting kernel" and so on and then it reboots.

Can someone point me to the right direction?

What system do you have? I had to use the original extra.Izma file. maybe that would work in your case as well iso updating the file?

Ok, with original extra.lzma it works. DSM 6.1.3-15152 is being installed right now.

EDIT: Had to make a hardreset, but now everything works. DSM 6.1.3-15152 U1

Thanks at all :-)

I tried to use DS3615xs 6.1 Jun's Mod V1.02b.iso in Hyper-V (Gen1) with no luck. The virtual machine doesn't boot with it. Still no chance to use dsm6.1 in Hyper-V?

Hi Every body!!

I'm Amd user (mainboard QC5000-ITX). Today I try to Install new v1.02b (version DS3615xs), and for now all is working!!

I do this:

With "Win32DiskImager" I write the Image on USB

I modify VID/PID from grub.cfg

I do a Fresh installation (Keeping my files)

Install this file "DSM_DS3615xs_15152.pat" from synology web

Configure Admin account.. And for now all is working!!! Any hard drive problem, any lan driver problem..

If some extra test is needed by Jun, I can do! ;)

Have anyone test the last Update (DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 1) on HP Gen8?

And if yes, how you make the Update?

With the Update Button in Web-Gui, or manual with the *.pat-file from synology server downloaded?

OT:

@lord_kimbou how you change the background image to this pic, or any other?

Have anyone test the last Update (DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 1) on HP Gen8?

And if yes, how you make the Update?

With the Update Button in Web-Gui, or manual with the *.pat-file from synology server downloaded?

OT:

@lord_kimbou how you change the background image to this pic, or any other?

Use the manual update from webgui and load the .pat file you previously downloaded

CrazyCreator it's very easy, you only need to go "personal" option, inside of head in up right icon (where you shut off nas), near of search box..

Personal/Desktop/Customize Desktop, and e voila!! it's easy men! ;)

Can please somebody help me with this. I bought HP ML350 which has integrated Smart Array 200i which is not supported anymore, so I bought HPSA P410 and cables and created volumes but installation still cannot see any drives or volumes and cannot install. My P410 is in slot 6 of mainboard and I have 6 drives connected to it. Can somebody tell me how this line should look like or what else to try?

set sata_args='sata_uid=1 sata_pcislot=5 synoboot_satadom=1 DiskIdxMap=0C SataPortMap=222 SasIdxMap=0'

I try to install Xpenology on baremetal and failed. During the DSM installation, I was forced to manual install but  then it keep saying "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted.(13)"

I try to use DS3617xs so I downloaded DSM_DS3617xs_15152.pat. I checked the MD5 and it's ok.

Is there anything I missed?

I tried to use DS3615xs 6.1 Jun's Mod V1.02b.iso in Hyper-V (Gen1) with no luck. The virtual machine doesn't boot with it. Still no chance to use dsm6.1 in Hyper-V?

I have it working in Hyper-V. Not sure if It's 1.02b though. I converted the img to vhd and set it as the 1st drive. Hope it helps.

That happens if your pid and vid are not set correctly.

Not sure about that. I make a new USB stick and this time I tried DS3615xs and it WORKS!

Anyway, I am new and can someone tell me the different of DS3617xs and DS3615 (and 916)? I read here someone asked before and I seems not seeing answers. Thanks.

BTW, found a good instruction http://blog.pztop.com/2017/07/24/Make-Xpenology-boot-loader-1.02b-for-DSM-6.1-on-Ubuntu/

I used v1.02b, did a baremetal install on my T20 and downloaded the latest build DSM 6.1.3-15152.

It works but when I downloaded  sabnzbd and nzbget the packages does not run.  I received the error "failed to run the package service"?
