  1. Where to change the SN in a vmware installation?
  2. It was my fault. I forgot modify the privilege file. I fixed it and now it works fine.
  3. I installed the package on DVA1622 successfully. On ESXi it appears vmware tools installed. But when I try to shutdowm the vm (on ESXi: Action->Guest OS -> Shut down) the vm won't shutdown and just keep running. Not sure why. Is is because I am using ESXi 6.7 U3?
  4. Report here for successfully installed on ESXi 6.7 U3 and ESXi 7. - DVA1622 - vm on ESXi, e100e NIC; - arpl-0.2-alpha3.vmdk(converted to ESXi files); HDD 1 (sata0:0) - 2 virtual HDD on sata1:0 and sata1:1 - During the config, only used "auto detect" the hardware - Used the 42661 update 1 pat file(350MB) for DSM installation - Manual update the DSM to Update 3 Thanks for the great work!
  5. - Outcome of the update: UNSUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3617XS - Using custom extra.lzma: No - Installation type: VM - ESXI 6.7 - Dell Precision (FixSynoboot.sh), Dell HBA SAS card (Passthrough). - Additional comments: Workstation not detected (No IP) after reboot.
  6. I have the exact problem and I endup with rebuild with version 6.2.2-24922 now. Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.03b DS3617XS Using custom extra.lzma: No Installation type: VM - ESXi 6.7 with FixSynoboot.sh installed) (6gb memory) Virtual NIC: E1000e Passthrough: Dell SAS 6Gbps HBA
  7. So I installed xpenology 6.2 (DS3615) on ESXi 6.7. I passthrough a SCSI card to the xpenology VM NAS, then on the NAS I exported a NFS volume to the ESXi host. Back on ESXi host the NFS share is mounted as a datastore. Everything works fine, until the ESXi host reboot! 😓 After the ESXi reboot, although I made the NAS VM auto boot at first, the ESXi won't mount the NFS share any more. I have to remove the datastore and add it back manually. Another thing I discovered is after the NFS share properly mounted on the ESXi server, then rebooting the xpenology NAS VM, the NFS datastore will keep alive after the NAS VM boot up. I am looking for a solution here to solve this problem. I think I may need run a script in the NAS VM during its boot up to force the ESXi to re-mount the NFS share. Any help will be appreciated.
  8. I am pretty sure I use e1000e in my all past installation. I just tried again and this time I re-downloaded all the file and I use 23824 pat file directerlly and now everything works. Still not sure what went wrong before. Thanks for all of your help.
  9. Following OP instruction I successfully installed DS-3615XS(DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 4) on ESXi 6.7. I tried to load 3617XS but failed. Not sure what was wrong. Which file you used when you load 3617XS? I am using 1.03b loader and DSM_DS3617xs_23739.pat. But after update to 23824 it seems lost network.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Not sure about that. I make a new USB stick and this time I tried DS3615xs and it WORKS! Anyway, I am new and can someone tell me the different of DS3617xs and DS3615 (and 916)? I read here someone asked before and I seems not seeing answers. Thanks. BTW, found a good instruction http://blog.pztop.com/2017/07/24/Make-Xpenology-boot-loader-1.02b-for-DSM-6.1-on-Ubuntu/

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

I try to install Xpenology on baremetal and failed. During the DSM installation, I was forced to manual install but then it keep saying "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted.(13)" I try to use DS3617xs so I downloaded DSM_DS3617xs_15152.pat. I checked the MD5 and it's ok. Is there anything I missed?

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Hi, I am trying to install 1.02b on ESXi 6.5 and the VM failed to get IP address from the DHCP server (which is my router). So I can't find the Xpenology when I search on find.synology.com. I already tried DS916 and DS3615 img file and both have the same issue. How to troubleshot this issue? BTW, do I need to edit the grub file for MAC address and sn, pid, vid?
