I wanted to find out the impact of the settings below that still remain in ARPL and M SHELL for TCRP v0.0.6b, but I have already verified it. CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_DEFAULT_GOV_PERFORMANCE=y CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_CONSERVATIVE=y Rather, the above two settings that lowered performance are restored and to improve IO performance v0.0.6c with the 4 settings below has already been officially distributed. CONFIG_MQ_IOSCHED_DEADLINE=y CONFIG_MQ_IOSCHED_KYBER=y CONFIG_IOSCHED_BFQ=y CONFIG_BFQ_GROUP_IOSCHED=y I am conducting a stability test centering on Korean users. Synology disk benchmarks were also run in parallel, but there was no synergistic effect. However, in VMM, it showed a synergistic effect of about 10%. Windows 10 seemed to start up a little faster. [TCRP Friend DVA3221 v0.0.6c] If you build the 0.9.4.3-2 image with friendaudoupd set to true as usual, it will automatically change to v0.0.6c. I tried building a new boot loader and using a clean HDD (I have encountered a couple of times where ARPL did not load the old DSM, but after cleaning the HDD everything worked fine).

This more resilient, you will keep your other VMs running while you are playing/maintaining Xpenology/DSM. But as you don't have "VT-d", if you expected to do HW transcoding, you won't be able to do it inside VMs with Proxmox of ESXi. But this is just my opinion.

This is an old PC network driver Realtek R8168 AMD Athlon II CPU. Thanks. Hello, I am having similar problems but with ARPL, on some motherboards, some with intel nics, others with realtek nics, after the loader loads DSM, when the command line returns, the NIC does a kind of reboot, and depending on which Synology model you have chosen, the NIC does not have a link again, On a Gigabyte B150 motherboard with intel core i5 6400, intel nic, it does not link if I use DS3615xs but it does link if I use DS3622xs+... Instead on a Gigabyte H610 motherboard with 12-gen intel core i5... with Realtek nic, after loading DSM and resetting the NIC, it no longer has a link with any Synology model... I hope I have explained myself well... ..
uxer Posted May 3, 2023 Share #4645 Posted May 3, 2023 Hi. I've asked this question in the noob lounge and nobody replied, but this case seems to be very common. I've installed DSM 7.1.1-42962 as VM on ESXI using image build with TinyCore RedPill Loader (withfriend) and I've installed update 5 on DSM. Initially I've selected E1000e network adapter in ESXi and now I would like to change it to VMXNET 3. Synology VM will not boot after that change (it doesn't have adequate network drivers, I think). So I thought that I can add these drivers using TCRP Image Build again. I've executed these commands: ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh serialgen DS918+ realmac ./rploader.sh satamap ./rploader.sh build ds918p-7.1.1-42962 withfriend ./rploader.sh backup exitcheck.sh reboot The problem is that after rebooting, DSM has complained that there is something wrong with system partition (I think that it expected system with Update 5, but TCRP has build image without any updates). I've restored system partition from backup and configured network adapter as E1000e, so now it's working again. My question is: how to properly add VMXNET network driver using TCRP? These machines have VMXNET3 network cards. VMXNET3 is a lot faster and it worked fine in my previous setup (DSM 6.2). I've made a mistake when I was creating VM for DSM 7.1 (I've selected wrong network adapter type). VMXNET3 is working fine when I'm using it on new VM (when building loader from scratch), but I don't know how to update my current bootloader. 2) I'm not using ARPL bootloader - I'm using standard @pocopico's TinyCore RedPill (TCRP) loader. My loader was built without VMXNET3 drivers, so these drivers need to be added to my loader.

CPU : AMD 2400G Motherboard : AB350M Pro4 Ethernet : on motherboard, should be Realtek "RTL8111/8168/8411" (as per TrueNAS). Your NIC is Realtek RTL8111GR For Ryzen (AMD) system, it is suggest to use DS1621+: look at the table on post #1 Also, AMD systems, at least mine, does not handle "withfriend".
