  1. 1) I have more virtual machines on this host. These machines have VMXNET3 network cards. VMXNET3 is a lot faster and it worked fine in my previous setup (DSM 6.2). I've made a mistake when I was creating VM for DSM 7.1 (I've selected wrong network adapter type). VMXNET3 is working fine when I'm using it on new VM (when building loader from scratch), but I don't know how to update my current bootloader. 2) I'm not using ARPL bootloader - I'm using standard @pocopico's TinyCore RedPill (TCRP) loader. My loader was built without VMXNET3 drivers, so these drivers need to be added to my loader.
  2. Hi. I've asked this question in the noob lounge and nobody replied, but this case seems to be very common. I've installed DSM 7.1.1-42962 as VM on ESXI using image build with TinyCore RedPill Loader (withfriend) and I've installed update 5 on DSM. Initially I've selected E1000e network adapter in ESXi and now I would like to change it to VMXNET 3. Synology VM will not boot after that change (it doesn't have adequate network drivers, I think). So I thought that I can add these drivers using TCRP Image Build again. I've executed these commands: ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh serialgen DS918+ realmac ./rploader.sh satamap ./rploader.sh build ds918p-7.1.1-42962 withfriend ./rploader.sh backup exitcheck.sh reboot The problem is that after rebooting, DSM has complained that there is something wrong with system partition (I think that it expected system with Update 5, but TCRP has build image without any updates). I've restored system partition from backup and configured network adapter as E1000e, so now it's working again. My question is: how to properly add VMXNET network driver using TCRP?

  4. Hi! I've lost my previous account, so I'm not entirely new here I'm a synology (xpenology) user for several years now.
