I have an R720xd running ESXi. I am using 3617xs loader 1.03b with e1000e NIC. If I install 6.2 it works fine. If I install 6.2.1 pat with exact same setup it breaks (tried upgrading to 6.2.1 from 6.2 and just installing 6.2.1 direct from beginning). flyride Posted July 2, 2019 Author Share #56 Posted July 2, 2019 This is referring to the presence or absence of kernel support for hardware video acceleration. DRI is an acronym for "Direct Rendering Infrastructure" The /dev/dri driver will appear if 1) kernel support for the driver exists, and 2) compatible display hardware has been detected. Hardware acceleration in Video Station and Plex, etc require this driver to be present and working.

dreamisdead Posted August 30, 2019 Share #59 Posted August 30, 2019 Can I install latest dsm with old sandy bridge cpu using ds3617xs 1.03b loader natively if only my first nic uses e1000e driver? My second on-board nic uses r8168 driver. I use this mb: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe. I am currently using old 6.1.7 dsm natively with old jun’s loader (forgot the version). Polanskiman Posted September 3, 2019 Share #60 Posted September 3, 2019 As stated in the OP it seems you can. An intel NIC is needed though. No. I do not recommend using DS3617xs. It has shown countless times to have issues. You can search the forum. I would stick with DS3615xs.

IG-88 Posted November 30, 2019 Share #63 Posted November 30, 2019 atm you would loose the internal network as of driver incompatibility between these versions, only dsm native driver would be working https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/13922-guide-to-native-drivers-dsm-617-and-621-on-ds3615/ if you wait 1 or 2 weeks you might be able ti use the new driver package containing the driver for your braodcom nic if you are willing to test (spare usb and disk for a separate test install with new driver package - before trying anything with your running installation) i could send you the latest test version (needs at least until tomorrow as i spend time lately with 3615 testing, 3617 needs recompiling drivers)
