Now the serial number generator work perfectly but :

Any idea?

Hi,

I am able to boot OS, but I'm currently stuck at Installing DSM ("Failed to install DSM" at 55%) using .pat file that has been generated during build. In the synoupdate.log I can see below error. I've tried multiple build versions and models (DS918+ and DS3615xs). Did somebody encountered same issue and was able to fix it? I'm running it as VM on pve node (VM config is below as well).

Thank you

Well played @pocopico

I did not try to fix/edit the disk DB file yet :

Please do the same with DVA3221 ;)

Edit : added the following text in front of the first char of /var/lib/disk-compatibility/ds3622xs+_host_v7.db

{"model":"VMware Virtual SATA Hard Drive","firmware”:”0001”,”rec_intvl”:[1]},

And It seems the VM is stuck when you try to shutdown DSM (must kill force VM shutdown)

@pocopico Just updated to 4.5 and will be trying it on the same system. I mentioned before, when trying to install 7 it would not create synoboot 1-3 or synobios. Thanks for the sacrifice and work that you do for this.

Update: Getting the same error when trying to install DS3617xs

When I do it for broadwell, extensions are found and loaded (tg3 is the only one auto loaded. Still have to add megaraid_sas)

Hi all

I’ve upgraded to 7.0.1 using the RedPill Tinycore loader and it’s all working fine. It installed 7.0.1-42218 but I’ve seem some people here have Update 2 which fixes some security vulns. The Tinycore loader didn’t give this as an option, can I upgrade from the Synology website or have I missed something?

Hello everyone,

I will start by saying that I am a complete noob in Linux/loader creation. But I am willing to learn and understand.

I have read the present topic and followed the tuto on https://xpenology.club/install-dsm-7-on-baremetal-or-vm/ So far I awas able to create my own loader but my NIC seems not recognized when rebootin (USB or SATA) and my Nas can't be detected.

My hardware is an HP 54NL, baremetal installation. I am using the onboard NIC and a PCI on with two 1Gbps.

Here is the logs of my bootloader creation, where my NIC are correctly detected (I assume ?) when building with bromolow-7.0.1-42218 (is it the correct one for N54L?)

For some reason rploader did not download the required extensions. Can you please run ./rploader.sh listmods bromolow-7.0.1-42218 before running build ?

When I do it for broadwell, extensions are found and loaded (tg3 is the only one auto loaded. Still have to add megaraid_sas)

You are using an old image loader and you are missing modules.alias.3.json. You can do a

# wget https://github.com/pocopico/tinycore-redpill/blob/main/modules.alias.3.json.gz?raw=true

and then

# backup
