About Me

  1. The NIC in question is a card that supports the Intel ixgbe module. Redfill loaders support this module by default. And, I have a feeling that the dgbutils addon is causing you problems all the way through. I would like to provide a way to remove this addon. Is it possible to try something like below? Of the four windows where we built the loader earlier, try the fourth window in the bottom right. vi *load/b*.json Go to the dgbutils line Delete only the relevant line with dd :wq! Save and exit Rebuild loader.
  2. I just have a question regarding the new Intel X520-SR2 10GbE Dual Port NIC I put recently to the Server. Do you know whether drivers are available for this in the DSM image, or how to install them additionally?

  5. Hello, I'm successfully running xpenology on ARC Loader on SA6400 for my Intel N100 architecture. Everything is working well but : - CPU detection clock is at 2.9 instead of 3.4 Ghz - Windows Virtual Machine or Windows Docker detect a 0.8 Ghz and crash every 10 mn If someone got any solution, it would be great !
  6. After nearly more than one year I have a problem on my DS3622x (on ESXi-7.0U3o-22348816) Today in the morning I rebooted and Redpill Friend updated to 0.0.6 and I lost three drives. I checked them in the BIOS on the LSI SAS9211-8i IT controller and all are visible. I am not quite sure what could happened. I thought maybe something crashed so I decided to update to DSM 7.2, (I was going to do it anyway ) so I did it and I used new tinycore-redpill.v0.10.0.0.vmdk file and create new bootloader I used the same MAC and SN. I have one physical drive (HDD) connected to SATA port on the motherboard and 6 SSD drives connected to above SAS controller -> pass-through. After I type ./rploader.sh satamap tc@box:~$ ./rploader.sh satamap Machine is VIRTUAL Hypervisor=VMware Found SCSI HBAs, We need to install the SCSI modules scsi-5.10.3-tinycore64 is already installed! 9.
  10. Performance problems: I set up a Syno DS3622xs+ with the latest ARC loader with all options such as M.2 Cash and M2. Volume etc. The hardware I use is an ASUS board «ASUS TUF GAMING B560M-PLUS (LGA 1200, Intel B560, mATX)» and an Intel Core I7-10700k 8 Core, 64GB RAM. 2 x M2 bars. For storage, I installed 3x 18TB Seagate Raid5 as volume 1, 2 x Samsung 970pro in Raid1 mode as volume 2, and a collection of SSD as basic as volume 3. All packages and VMs are installed on Volume-2. I have major performance problems with the VMs. When using a W10, your face falls asleep, the cursor lags behind, etc.! My original DS1621 with AMD processor runs quite well. The HDs are constantly running ok, but when I log in it sometimes takes up to 10 seconds until I can log in, but not always. Does anyone have any idea why this might be
  11. Hello everyone, After experimenting with several XPnology I managed to perform the simple installation I managed to get it working easily!! To carry out the process we will need to download the following zip and carry out the process 1. Download XPenology - Citrix 7.6.zip Site https://www.mediafire.com/file/yy61n0pvobebqlr/XPenology_-_Citrix_7.6.zip 2. Install the XEnOrchestra panel on XenServer from the following Site https://github.com/ronivay/XenOrchestraInstallerUpdater 3. We will load the virtual machine synoboot.vmdk (Do not start VM) 4. We will enter the XenOrchestra Panel and change the NIC type to Intel e1000 and change the MAC to the internal file 5. Start the virtual machine 6. Use Synology Assistant to search for the new DSM VM 7. After finding the new DSM VM, right click and connect (it would open a browser to the DSM IP) or just use the native Wizard installation 8. In the installation menu, DSM should see a virtual disk connected (usually in that step it appears that there was no disk connected) 9. Follow the wizard to install DSM, and everything should work perfectly. PD1 - When loading the vmdk we will use 2 cores and 2GB of ram I hope this helps someone. Excuse my terrible English Greetings

  14. Hello. I'll start right away in order. I put it here on this guide https://github.com/fbelavenuto/arpl Specifications of my PC ( i5-12400, 16GB, Asus Prime B660M-A D4, 3xSkyhawk 4TB 1xSSD M.2 NVMe 250Gb Kingston NV1 SNVS/250G) Then when I put it using the Arpl method, the bootloader is installed on my USB flash drive, everything is fine. But at the Booting stage.... the computer is not responding. There is no access by IP. But at the boot stage, the IP is obtained via DHCP and it is visible for 3 seconds while there is still no Booting stage.... I tried this guide but all to no avail. On this guide at the stage ./rploader.sh satamap writes me 1 2 3 4 bad ports.https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/62221-tutorial-installmigrate-to-dsm-7x-with-tinycore-redpill-tcrp-loader/ , but all to no avail. On this guide at the stage ./rploader.sh satamap writes me 1 2 3 4 bad ports. Found "00:17.0 Intel Corporation Device 7ae2 (rev 11)" Detected 8 ports/3 drives. Bad ports: 1 2 3 4. Override # of ports or ENTER to accept <8> Computed settings: SataPortMap=8 DiskIdxMap=00 WARNING: Bad ports are mapped. The DSM installation will fail! And I do not know what else to do in this situation because in the Arpl method it freezes there at the loading stage. Here I can't make a flash drive because at the sata stage I have an error, if I make a build, it freezes at the flash drive build stage. Please help me, what can I do?
  15. Hola.
ASUSTeK P5Q-VM DO Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9550 2,83GHz Kingston DDR2-800MHZ KVR800D2N6/2G (2Gb + 2Gb + 2Gb + 2Gb= 8Gb )
  19. Dear Guys, I'm totally confused, but I hope, I can find help: System: Asus Q370M-C + Intel 9100, bare metal DS3622XS+ with 7.1.1-42962 The system ran over a half year. 50 days ago I had problems with booting. After little bit BIOS-Playing with UEFI and Legacy the 5th time the USB-Stick show me his boot-menu and I choose the right one. It starts and work until today. Today I must reboot my Xpenology-NAS and now, I can't boot anymore! BIOS reset etc. doesn't work (UEFI adjustment). I put the stick in another PC and after booting, the message was: error: symbol "grub_disk_native_sectors" not found Entering rescue mode... grub rescue> _ What can I do? Can I repair the stick or should I creat a new one? I want only my NAS back.... Thanks a lot! Best Regards!
  20. Hello, I've been struggling with the memory and CPU performance of DSM on Intel systems for about a year. Someone who only runs DSM as a USB hard drive on the router will certainly not care about this topic. Maybe the reference to the anyway faulty Apollo Lake CPUs: https://www.computerbase.de/2019-09/intel-apollo-lake-lpc-degradation-defekt-stepping/ My focus is on Intel boards with Braswell to Skylake CPUs, as these are very energy-efficient and at the same time affordable for use as NAS, or are already left over as a superseded device. Now the problems that plague me: - the CPU only runs on the base clock frequency and not on boost, on systems where Intel EIST cannot be switched off in the BIOS. - Memory modules only run at 1066MHz, but they should work at 1600 or 1866MHz. Since in Linux dmidecode -t 17 is displayed incorrectly also in Windows Task Manager/Performance/Memory/far right, I decided to use the 7-zip program, which is available on all OSs. Anyone whose test is far below my "reference system" should probably consider running Xpenology on Windows in the Virtualbox. 22. Merci d'avance
  23. Sorry if this already exists. But I was trying to consolidate the information on the form into one thread to make it more helpful for other users. The Problem: After installing DSM on non-Synology hardware (Xpenology), you might notice that the fan is running at full speed and noisy. It doesn't matter what "fan speed mode" you set in "DSM > Control Panel > Hardware & Power". The reason is - DSM use a proprietary circuit on Synology hardware for fan control. On non-Synology hardware, this circuit does not exist, therefore DSM "fan speed mode" setting won't be able to control the fan speed. Solutions: There seems to be different solutions: Option 1: Utilize the DSM GUI. This solution uses a modified version of /usr/syno/bin/scemd so that the "fan speed mode" settings in DSM is redirected to your own fan speed control logic instead of Synology's proprietary circuit. This seems to be a more elegant solution as it retain the features of the DSM. Reference: https://github.com/NyaMisty/scemd_fanspeed_hook Option 2: Ignore the DSM GUI. This solution uses the /etc/fancontrol file to control the fan speed based on temperature. References: Please note: Either of the above solutions requires you to install hardware specific driver, which is usually missing from the 3rd-party loader. Otherwise, you'll get message like below: /opt/sbin/pwmconfig: There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed I'm not a Linux guru. Can someone write a good document on how to load the sensor drivers? For your reference, this is an output of "sensors-detect" command: root@Q870:~# sensors-detect sensors-detect revision 5946 (2011-03-23 11:54:44 +0100) System: To be filled by O.E.M. 24. Here's a AMD option (5xxx, 4xxx, and 3xxx Ryzen) with ECC support AND 8 SATA Ports: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B550M-VC-WIFI/Overview There are plenty of (intel or AMD) motherboards that would give you 8 SATA ports, but as for ECC - most will accept ECC RAM but will use it in non-ECC mode.. For that I think you'll need to go to industrial boards, or server boards. Here's a list of standard consumer motherboards with 8 SATA boards: https://pangoly.com/en/browse/motherboard?extra=SATA6Ports%3A8%2C10&sort=low
