My network card keeps showing as a 100M not sure why. I reloaded a few times and it still shows it. I am running this on proxmox. I tried to use virtio and Realtek RTL8139 but Realtek RTL8139 is the only that show up and when it does its shown as 100. Any ideas?

The RTL8139 was originally a chipset with a maximum speed of 100Mbps.
It only supports 10 or 100 Mbps.

So how does virtio work? I was not able to get it to see it.

It seems that only the virtio part of the contents mentioned in this guide should be focused on.
And, the mac address to be set in virtio of Hardware > Network Device of Proxmox must match the mac address automatically assigned by rploader.sh in Tinicore Linux.

Hi all,

Trying to build a loader with a Dell C852G Dual Port 10GB SFP+ PCI-E CNA [Low Profile] | QLogic QLE8262 card.  It finds the drivers for DS3622xs+ but failed at the end.

Here is a pic:

from the error and rp-ext location i dont think the 3622 module is listed, maybe try a build that is? https://github.com/pocopico/rp-ext/tree/main/qla2xxx/releases

Is qla2xxx ext automatically recognized and added by TRCP?

pocopico's rp-ext has another ext ready for QLogic 10 GbE nics, and also exactly supports DS3622xs+.

https://github.com/pocopico/rp-ext/blob/main/qlcnic/rpext-index.json

Refer to the Linux driver readme and release notes below.

It seems that qlcnic also supports the 8200 series.

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-my/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=65w9j

If qla2xxx is added by automatic recognition, add qlcnic ext separately
We recommend that you try using the manual option for your build action.

The bootloader is usually built on a USB stick.
It is possible to build on SSD or MSATA, but it requires special work.
And, if you install DSM from SSD/MSATA bootloader already prepared from scratch, DSM may destroy the bootloader and treat it as a data disk.
To avoid this case, the capacity of SSD / MSATA must be less than 24GB.
Currently, SSDs of this capacity are very difficult to find.

ah ok all clear better then usb!
since i have an intel i5 8500 cpu which version do you recommend to install?
I tried with the dsDS3622xs + but then it doesn't find the disks and says to insert a disk, when there is already a 320gb disk.

I'm not sure about the cpu model alone,
Any plans to use NVMe or HBA?
What is the motherboard model?
Any plans for video transcoding?

There is too little information.

at the moment I'm testing it on a lenovo pc with i5 cpu and 8gb of ram.
So if everything works, I assemble a new case for nas with motherboard, maybe if you can recommend something like hardware ....
I am not interested in transcoding, I have to make local and smartphone backups, replace google photos and synchronize the photos of the smarthpne with the nas.
also make backups on cloud services and then put on 4 vm servers of few resources.
Because I want a fast system.

If the NVMe / HBA / transcoding that I inquired about are all factors you are not interested in, I recommend a Device Tree-based model that makes disk recognition easier.
I recommend the DS1621+, which does not require transcoding and has ample bays.
You don't need to worry about SataPortMap etc.
It maps disk ports on its own.

I'm understanding right now how it all works. in practice the DSM system installs it on the hard disk, but you could install m2 or ssd to increase the writing speed?
does model DS1621 + support ssd cache?

As you can see by checking this guide, all models except DS3615xs support NVMe Cache.

It is better not to expect that the m.2 NVMe can dramatically increase the speed.
This is my personal opinion, and it is your choice whether to use m.2 NVMe Cache or not.

Thanks for the response, yes it is being added automatically when building.  I did a

./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661  auto

when buiiding it, it said it was added already

So how would I go about doing it manually.  What would be the commands ?  or just buy a Intel X520-SR2 which would be a better option ?

please advise, thanks again...  I really want to use the DS3622xs+ loader.
