Peter Suh Posted May 26, 2022 Author Share #302 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) In @pocopico's 0.4.6 img for legacy, the first partition is increased from 48mb to 96mb to secure space for the dtc utility to be copied, and it is an image that has been fully upgraded to the latest version 0.7.1.7. Download it from the Google link below, decompress the gz and record it on a new USB stick. You don't need to worry about mappings related to SataPortMap etc or any Sata port at all. Just build and use. It is recommended because it is a method that can also skip the M.2 slot. Try this method. Hello, I am stuck at the point where I have to add the .pat file to install the dsm from the web. I get an error at 55% with a message that the file is possibly corrupted. sixfaces Posted May 30, 2022 Share #308 Posted May 30, 2022 I've just set up my first install of xpenology - got dsm 7.1 running happily, thanks to this guide. If, in the future, I add a SATA card, will I have to rebuild/reinstall DSM or is it possible to get it to accept that the SATA port count is increased (assuming driver compatibility)? I don't know which model was built, It's okay to rebuild the TC loader You can also directly adjust the sataportmap value of grub.cfg by attaching this loader USB to Windows 10 and accessing the first partition, the GNU GRUB BOOT partition.
Peter Suh Posted May 30, 2022 Author Share #310 Posted May 30, 2022 (edited) TCRP has already been converted to jumkey's new dtc port auto-dynamic mapping method, Sometimes this method doesn't work well. In this case, manually model_ds920p.dtb or model_ds1621p.dtb You just need to prepare the file to compile. It is good to compile the model_#platform.dtb file directly with dtc, If even this does not work, edit install_rd.sh as shown below You can also add the dtc compilation command one line in advance. It is a method that can be applied immediately to a case that has succeeded in the actual test. ./my.sh DS1621+ noclean cd redpill-load/custom/extensions/redpill-dtb/ds1621p_42661 cp /home/tc/ds1621p.dts . lspci -tvnnq ll /sys/block vi ds1621p.dts ... internal_slot@1 { protocol_type = "sata"; led_type = "lp3943"; ahci { pcie_root = "your device information"; ata_port = <0x0 your target port number>; }; ... :wq! vi install_rd.sh #add in line 7 ./dtc -q -I dts -O dtb ds1621p.dts > model_ds1621p.dtb :wq! ./my.sh DS1621+ noclean Edited May 30, 2022 by Peter Suh

I have tried with several .pat files from different sites and downloaded several times but there is no way 55%~57% of disk corruption messages are often disk corrupted or have nothing to do with the USB's vid/pid. You need to find the cause by analyzing various logs in the dsm installation screen (called junior mode). Log analysis should be done with professional help from a redpill developer like pocopico. There is still no definitive solution to this issue. In a recent success story, there was a report that the above phenomenon disappeared after setting the Windows version to 8.x in the bios. A good alternative would be to change the usb port that you have your loader connected.

amikot Posted May 30, 2022 Share #314 Posted May 30, 2022 Hello everyone, after months I've decided to migrate my old N54L to RedPill DSM7 and unfortunately nothing work for me. I found one French thread dedicated to N54L and there everything was clear, but from some reason after installation my machine stuck on Loading Kernel and is invisible in the network. I'm not using anything unusual, just regular N54L, so I'm surprised it didn't work. Of course I tried 3615sx as it was suggested in that French thread. But maybe it's not up to date? Maybe now procedure is different? Could someone help me with that? Thanks And one more - my disks are now with DSM 6.2.3 - I hope it will migrate automatically when it will just boot up? Thanks

According to the manager's guidance, each topic has been recently guided so that posts that fit the nature of the topic are written. In this guide topic, we will not answer questions related to loader builds in the future. The Noob Lounge and the general questions board seem to be a good place for this. If you mention me with @ along with this question you asked on the above bulletin boards, I will be sure to answer it.
