gavinswallom Posted April 9, 2020 Share #57 Posted April 9, 2020 (edited) Loader: 1.03b DS3617xs DSM : 6.2.2-24922 Update 6 Using the Driver Extension DS3617 extra.lmza v0.5_test and the copied kernel (zImage and rd.gz) from the DSM_DS3617xs_24922.pat to the second partition (partition 1 on OSFmount) Hardware: Dell Poweredge R510 12-Bay+2 Internal Baremetal Processor : 2x Intel Xeon E5620 Quad Core : Westmere Microarchitecture : Nehalem -- 32GB Ram 2GB Flash Drive on internal USB 2.0 bus that appears to be hosted by the HBA card. Dell PERC H200 (IT Mode) ~ "LSI 9211" HBA 6Gb/s SAS Intel PRO/1000 PT Quad Port Gigabit NIC && Intel PRO/1000 Pf Dual Gigabit Fiber Card Both of the onboard Broadcom NICs are working for me as well. Must use BIOS, UEFI doesn't work. Shutdown/Reboot commands successfully passthrough to the hardware as well, which was something that wasn't working on prior versions for me when I was using the 3615xs on 1.02b I used the Synology Assistant to install the .pat file, as the web interface kept failing. I had a previous 6.1 install, but I ended up losing it in trial and error of things not working after I tried to convert to a ESXi Host from Baremetal, which did work, but I was having issues where I was unable to have all 12 of my drives attached at the same time to the VM, and would always show a blank drive tray and one external drive. I decided I would go back, but my previous USB for bare metal kept giving the error that no disks were found upon DSM loading. Thankfully, I was prepared to lose everything and had backed everything up to external drives before tinkering. The two internal drives work if you update your syno.conf to support 14 drives. Edited April 9, 2020 by gavinswallom Further testing proved some more things worked.
