  1. If virtIO driver doesn't work for you (but it rly should though) you can always go hardware road and get urself pci-e NIC and passthrough it to VM to have a dedicated LAN for NAS.
  2. My thinking was like SSH: unmount volumes and do e2fsck or badlocks and go from there but I don't actually know how to unmount volume1 and volume2 and don't fck up the DSM. Any guide or similar thread maybe?
  3. Hey there guys! I rly need some idea on how to recover VM 3671xs on Proxmox ZFS. So my setup is 2 ZFS mirror SSDs for Proxmox and VMs and 5 4tb HDDs disks in raidz1 pool. My 3617xs VM gets 50gib from mirror pool as volume1 and whole 8.8Tb from hdd pool (what a scam from zfs btw to get only 8.8tb usable space from 5 4tb disks ). I can't perform a VM backup from Proxmox and sometimes my volumes crash inside VM and so far I was able to convert them back to read-write but it's not for long). here is zpool status -v What can I do from inside of 3617 VM to find the bad apples and maybe remove some files which give those errors to ZFS? Or it's a lost cause and I doomed to restart the whole NAS VM from scratch and that is such a pain in my circumstances...
  4. Hey guys, can someone please put my mind at ease and just say that there is absolutely no way I can get Intel Atom D2550 iGPU work as local display on 1622 loader?
  5. I am gonna answer myself so it would stay here for future ref. So you gotta have i915 driver gpu support (Haswell or newer Intel gen cpu, 4th gen and up to 10) and AMDs are not compatible at all. My Atom 2550 is too old it looks like. Although my other MB with 1037u Celeron is 3rd gen and local display works. See this post
  6. Hey guys. Struggling to find any info on my topic: how to force switch my video output to Local Display of SS instead of showing me Redpill Loader final screen with kernel booting? It kinda got itself going on my other MB that had HDMI out but the one I am using right now only has VGA out and it just shows redpill loader.
  7. Thx for the detailed answer and for all the work u've done for this community! I am a lil bit confused still though. So if I want to use my current hardware I can but latest DSM would be 6.0? What loader should I use? I don't remember seeing jun's 1.01 anywhere...
  8. Hi there fellow xpenologists. Can someone pls pinpoint into the direction of what I should do next? I have GA-C1037UN-EU board with STlab A-230 PCI sata raid card (with via VT6421 chip) and my DSM doesn't see the HDDs connected to it. I've used extra.izma, rd.gz and zImage as instructed here with my loader. DSM (fresh install 3617xs) is 25426 Update 3. How do I dig for the root of the problem here?
  9. - Outcome of the update: UNSUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.1 - 23739 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3617xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock H61M-DGS + G1610 + 4gb RAM + Onboard NIC
  10. You are right, it does get a driver but for unknown (at least for me) reasons something doesn't work properly. I am getting "failed to IDENTIFY (INIT_DEV_PARAMS failed, err_mask=0x80)" on the port when I am trying to connect hdd (or after restart). And I have tried another port from the same controller, another cable, another hdd. Cables, ports, hdds work as they should in windows in the same system and BIOS sees them without any problems. BIOS AHCI>IDE doesn't help either. Here is what I get from log (ata7 is the port from marvell controller): Any ideas how I can pinpoint a problem?
  11. Hey guys. Can anybody pls spare a min and help me figure out how to proceed with my xpenology bare-metal build on Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z. I got it working (ish) with extra.izma from this tread (great work btw, thank you so much IG-88!). I have Intel chipset with 6 sata ports on my MB and all of them are working but I rly need 2 more from the Marvell 9182 (also onboard) for SSD cache. Is there a way I can get them to work? Or do I need to compile driver for it myself (cos I am nowhere near the skill to do it)? I've searched through the forum and found nothing about 9182 Marvell so I guess that means there is no driver for it? Or am I missing something obvious since I am new to the whole xpenology thing? Can please someone put me out of my misery and tell me that I wont get it to work and I should buy pci-e SATA expansion card (btw is there a list of confirmed ones?) and be done with it?
  12. Marvell 9182 Sata Controller (onboard Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z) Jun's 1.03b 3617xs
  13. Loader version and type: 1.03b DS3617xs DSM version in use (including critical update): DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 6 Using custom modules/ramdisk? If yes which one?: yes, extra.lzma for loader 1.03b_mod ds3617 DSM 6.2.2 v0.5_test Hardware details: CPU: Intel Xeon 1260 2,4 GHz Motherboard: Maximus IV Extreme Z Onboard SATA: Intel Z68 (working all 6 ports) Onboard SATA: Marvell 9182 (undetected by DSM) Onbaord eSATA: JMicron 362 (untested) NIC: Intel 82579V and Intel 82583V (Bond works)
