  1. Да, только выполнять не чистую инсталляцию, а миграцию.

  2. Не, подсунуть новый загрузчик и мигрировать. Только убедится неплохо было бы на чистом диске и новой флешке, взлетит или нет.

  7. OK. And you're encrypting this why, again? Because you are worried someone will steal your code?

  8. So what exactly are you using to make a binary executable from a shell script? I thought, if it is a proper executable then it doesn't need /bin/bash? Thank you for your code

  9. Also: Why does a compile script need to find the bash executable? I thought FOXBI was using the compile to make it easier to run... I still think source script (.sh) is easier, and better for sharing. Open source XPEnology 😍

  12. Doh!!! I forgot to check this too...I can confirm the same findings/issue, using V5.0 on all 3 of my systems. It's showing the updated info correctly in SYSINFO/Control Panel, but "Original Info" when DS Finder & DSM Mobile. I am sure a quick fix for FOXBI will knock it out. 🕵🏻‍♂️

  13. SynoManager third-party program still shows the same as in the original.

  14. Unplug the fan. Fire it up and let it run for a bit. Take the side off (with the computer running) and check the temp of the heatsink. An IR thermometer is best, but even your finger is good. If you can't leave your finger on it because its too hot, it needs a fan. If you can leave your finger on it, its fine to leave the fan off

  15. Massive thanks to jun! Hardware acceleration is now working on my 8th gen i7-8700K. Using new ds918 loader 1.04b. Bare metal on DSM 6.2.1. Even with Plex running inside a Docker container it is detecting the hardware (for anyone wondering, this required the plex user having ownership of /dev/dri/* and setting the device flag + mounting /dev/dri in the container). This is really super... I thought it would only be possible with another big kernel upgrade from Synology. Fantastic to have it working with these CPU's. Thanks again for the amazing work jun 👌

  16. took the chance, backed up config and all my files and followed the tutorial exactly as written by Polanskiman at https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/7973-tutorial-installmigrate-dsm-52-to-61x-juns-loader/ which went like a dream with no problems on my N54L. Did the updates to 6.1.7 Update 2 with no problems, then uninstalled Plex and reinstalled 64bit version and everything now working okay, all files intact and lost nothing.

  17. Yeah but your CPU actually has an iGPU. Unrelated to the quote, I reinstalled DS918+ and as before, hwaccel was crashing after 5 seconds. I've also tried Plex with hwaccel and that was crashing instantly. However, I've unplugged the monitor and rebooted the system and now both VideoStation and Plex work with hwaccel, no more rebooting. I've tried both BIOS and UEFI boot and they both behave the same way, it seems transcoding works fine with a G4560 as long as no displays are connected.

  18. NOTE OF CAUTION It is strongly advised to never apply an update on a 'production' box as soon as the update is made available. ALWAYS test the update on a test machine first and make sure all features are working as expected. Also, I recommend you to wait several days after the update is available to apply the update on a 'production' box. Reason is that Synology sometimes makes updates available and then suddenly withdraws them for no apparent reason. This could mean that the update has some issues and needs to be withdrawn from the public.

  19. 1 - What motherboard/PC/CPU can I use? Most Intel based motherboards/PC's will work with the current boot loader for DSM 6.1.x and DSM 6.2 but many community members are running AMD with DSM 6.1.x. If your motherboards BIOS has a C1E function (mostly HP machines) make sure to disable that before upgrading to DSM 6.1.x Intel/AMD boards are supported with XPE/DSM 6.0.2.
