I'd like to get updated, too.  But my box is already in "production" (ie: hosting all my media files for Plex for my family) and if anything gets hosed while testing it wouldn't be good.  They've beheaded people and thrown them in the pit of fire for lesser infractions.  Hahaha

Did a search of this thread with no luck. Will this loader work with an AMD FX8350 cpu? I have some old hardware I'd like to repurpose.

 

I notice that all of the builds are intel named processors.

 

I've used the loader to build a DS3617xs build with the broadwell-7.0.1-42218 DSM build. When I boot from either USB or SATA i can find the synology device but it fails at 55% when loading the pat file. I have double checked VID:PID several times, but no luck. Wondering if it has something to do with the processor.

 

Doing this on baremetal

You have three sata controllers Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9235 PCIe 2.0 x2 4-port SATA 6 Gb/s Controller [1b4b:9235] ,  Intel Corporation Q170/Q150/B150/H170/H110/Z170/CM236 Chipset SATA Controller [AHCI Mode] [8086:a102] , and ASMedia Technology Inc. ASM1062 Serial ATA Controller [1b21:0612] (rev 02). Which controller do you have the hdd connected to?  Also, is AHCI enabled in the bios of your computer?  Looks like Marvell, ASMedia, and Intel run on the same kernel source which is AHCI. So I would start fresh, make sure AHCI is enabled in bios and dont add the ext I told you before.  I would imagine that the ahci module is included in the build, but if all of this still fails you will need to request for the ext for these devices to be added. You can do that Extension driver/module request

I had this problem when trying to build DS3617xs as well.  Switched to DS3622xs+ and it worked fine.

yes ahci is turned on an done fresh install still same no m.2 show when adding them in cache an hdd not in order

Thanks all. Changed to DS3622xs+ with broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218. That got me over the first hurdle. But now it seems to install fully and goes to the 10:00 minute timer. When it gets to 0 its says "Something went wrong" and then ... nothing, I'm back at square one, where it says Welcome! and click to Install.

 

Any thoughts?

Is the Network card getting a link after the loader boots?

When I was trying to install 3617 and it failed on 55% on reboot it would show and warn that 4 drives would be overwritten.

Are you using the pat file that is downloaded when you build the img or are you downloading it from the website

I'm using WinSCP to transfer the .pat folder out of the /home/tc/redpill-load/cache/ after the loader builds and using that.

 

I know that this is subjective based on hardware, but how long should the install take? It goes from 55% to 80% pretty quickly and then seems to jump to the 10 minute timer.  The machine than reboots less than 2 minutes into that 10 minute wait window.

I had this experience, too. Clean installation of DS3622xs+ was attempted, but the DSM installation process was repeated.
So, DS918+ 6.2.3 was first installed cleanly with jun loader, and then boot loader was replaced with DS3622xxs+ USB. At this time, it was changed to "Migration Possible" rather than "Not installed".

@Dvalin21 were you able to proceed?

I didn't get that, though I installed on baremetal. When I was getting that on 3617 it was failing to create some boot folders. Not sure if this is the same case or not. You should be able to telnet and check. I'll have to find the command again and post it here
