Hello! I've followed as many tutorials I can find, but I cannot get this working Tried unraid, and while everything worked right away, I would greatly prefer XPEnology/Synology. I'm using the following: Ryzen 3400g Asrock X570M pro4 (according to specs page: Giga PHY Intel® I211AT) Asus XG-C100C 10gb NIC LSI 9211-8I chipset with 8x10tb I have Tried Jun's loader 1.04b for DS918+ and loader 1.03b for DS3617xs and DS3615xs. The official Synology files end with _23739. Added the VID, PID for my usb drive. Using rear USB ports as well as an internal header for clean look. SN from a certain place (for each of the 3 models above) MAC for the onboard NIC as well as the 10gb (would prefer this one). It loads the initial choose install method and prompts me to go to find.synology.com, but the server is never found. It does not show up as getting an IP in router either. Both NIC's confirmed working in Windows and unraid on the same hardware. Upon searching for several hours I feel like I am going in a loop. There is apparently an "extra.lzma" file I can add to the 2nd partition of USB pre-install for it to recognize either of my NIC's? I have tried several found with no luck on either Intel or Asus NIC. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm lost at this point. Searching for my specific board on here and general google show people using it, but zero info on how they got it working. Edit: even a go to (specific place), get (file/version), replace (thing), you're good to go is fine. I'm getting quite familiar with modifying these files. Just seems like there are too many different places for partial answers. Thank you!

Hallo zusammen, ich nutze den Loader 1.04b zum emulieren einer DS918+. Das ganze läuft auf einem AS Rock H87 Pro4 mit einem Intel 1230 v3. Bislang lief auch alles ohne Probleme. Jetzt musste ich einmal die NAS runterfahren und an einen anderen Platz stellen. Seitdem wurde ihm von der FritzBox entweder keine IP zugewiesen, die "Happy Hacking"-Meldung erscheint aber. Oder aber: Habe ein BIOS reset durchgeführt. Jetzt bekomm ich eine IP, aber der Synology Assistent bzw. find.synology finden nichts. Habe dazu alle HDD's erstmal abgeklemmt und nur den USB Stick dran. Es ist CSM aktiv und wird über Lagacy gebootet. Ich habe einige Beiträge gelesen und das gefunden: Wäre das eine Möglichkeit? Oder was könnte nach dem Herunterfahren passiert sein? Verstehe das Tutorial mit der " extra.lzma file" nicht so richtig, sorry... Viele Grüße

Wow what a great place you have here i am so pleased i managed to find this fourm. So my aim is to upgrade from my 4 bay synology by building my own home sever with up to 10 bays available . This will be my very first home build so would like to make sure it will be fine before buying the parts and building it . This will mainly be a storage device for all my media DNLA server and for torrenting use, i dont really use plex so not that botherd if i have it or not . Motherboard : ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 CPU :AMD Ryzen 3 3200G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 I have done a lot of reading though the forum and as far as i can tell they should be fine . The only other thing im not sure about is it worth having an internal ssd on my motherboard and if yes will that automatically show up when i do the install or do i have to change or add code on set up .

EDIT: toutes mes excuses, j'ai cru que tu avais une AsRock z390M itx et tu sembles avoir une AsRock z390M Pro4, du coup les liens postés ne sont pas pertinents et je les ai donc supprimés. Sur ta carte mère, le i219V est peut être une variante avec un Device ID qui diffère des "classiques" (comme expliqué par flyride), cela arrive lorsque le fabricant y fait des modifications, pour le savoir et comparer ce device ID à la liste de ceux supportés, il faudrait installer un linux ou un windows rapidement mais bon, de ce que je lis, en faisant une recherche avec "AsRock z390M Pro4" dans ce forum, cette carte pose des problèmes à plusieurs personnes qui, comme toi, ne voient rien apparaitre sur le réseau. De ce que je lis également, l'ajout de l'extra règle le problème. Si tu ne t'en sors pas du tout, il reste la solution peu onéreuse d'acheter une HP NC360T sur ebay pour 20 euros, elle fonctionne sans rien bricoler.

@pmchan, @EVOTk, Bon j'ai fait tout bien ce qui est indiqué dans le tuto... Tout fonctionne bien puisque j'arrive sur l'écran de lancement du Grub et sur le message pour lancer Synology Assistant. Or .... je ne suis pas détecté ni par Synology Assistant, ni pas par Find synology, ni même par la livebox. Ma config est celle discutée : AsRock Z390M Pro4 (NIC : i219V) i3 9100 J'ai tenté de changer 1 caractère de la MAC pour voir pas fonctionné.... Plzzzzzz Help ..... Merci d'avance

Hola buen día quisiera saber el porqué ds 918+ no detecta mi pcie SATA (startech), está leyendo que es porque originalmente este NAS no soporta muchos hdd si es el caso entonces cual versión sería la correcta porque voy a instalar unas 15 terminales rj45 nic intel y unos 20 discos duros tengo un i3 8100 y z370 pro4 me pueden ayudar por favor

Je garderais bien mon NAS DS918+ indéfiniment mais le pauvre est limité à 4 DD et je peux pas me procurer des DD à 20 To. Les miens sont déjà bien pleins 80%. L'idée est donc de me construire un NAS me permettant de mettre plus de 4 DD et d'optimiser la machine. Et j'ai testé l'unité d'extension ... qui m'a fait perdre la totalité de mes données (mauvais fonctionnement sûrement unitaire mais plus confiance en ce truc) donc plus jamais... Mais de toute manière, cela m'intéresse de savoir pourquoi le pauvre est à la peine sur du transco. Je testerais et te solliciterais @pmchan quand je pourrais. Je viens d'être hospitalisé (depuis 17h auj) donc cela va être compliqué de faire les manips que tu me demandes dans l'immédiat... Donc, pour résumé, Fractal Design Node 4 (pour sa possibilité jusqu'à 8 DD) AsRock z390M Pro4 (déjà testée et OK) i3 9100 (amplement suffisant sur du transco hardware) Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 C15 (pas chère et largement suffisant même pour une future évol) Corsair TXM 650 (pour son alimentation native 6SATA et sa norme 80 Gold) Est-ce que cela peut le faire ? j'ai tout bon ?

Du coup, je vais partir sur la asRock Z390M Pro4. @nicoueron @EVOTk ça vous intéresse que j'en profite pour tester le GPU ?

Pour la carte mere, a mon avis, elle sera compatible, mais impossible d’être sur ... Similaire il y a la Z390 Pro4, mais plus chère ( Visiblement compatible ) 145€ chez LDLC H370M Pro4, 115€ chez LDLC, Pas d'utilisateur ayant la meme, mais certain utilise le meme chipset B360M Pro4, 95€, idem que au dessus, pas d'utilisateur avec la meme, mais des utilisateurs avec le meme chip

Re Pour la carte mere ASRock B365M Pro4, attention, d'apres ma recherche personne ne l'utilise sur Xpenology ! Donc rien ne garantie sa compatibilité. Malgré tout, il utilise le meme chip réseau que le mienne ( Giga PHY Intel® I219V ) donc cela ne devrait pas poser de souci , par contre j'ai pas trouvé d'utilisateur avec le chip CM b365m. Pour la carte graphique, je partirai plutôt sans d'abord, pour un achat par la suite, si le besoin se fait sentir ! Pour ce qui est de 4 flux HEVC, pour moi même en transcodage software, ton CPU arrivera a le tenir, du moment que la demande des 4 ne se fait pas tous en même temps ( ce qui n'arrive jamais en fait ! ), mais il sera fortement sollicité. Par contre en transcodage hard ( demande S/N valide + Plex Pass ), pas de soucis a tenir même plus que 4 flux, le i5-9600K étant compatible H265 10Bit ( et moins ) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Quick_Sync_Video Avec une carte video pour le transcodage, cela est également du hard, donc les pré-requis seront les mêmes ( S/N valide + Plex Pass ), une carte graphique sur Xpenology étant une chose que je n'est jamais expérimenté, je ne serait te dire plus sur la mise en place, ou même les performances que cela apporterai.

Bonsoir, Après un travail acharné (quasi la journée), j'hésite entre 2 setup... > AMD : Fractal Design NODE 804 AMD Ryzen 5 3200G Gigabyte B450 AORUS M Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory PNY QUADRO VCQP400DVI-PB Corsair TX550M > Intel : Fractal Design NODE 804 Intel i5 9600K ASRock B365M Pro4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory PNY QUADRO VCQP400DVI-PB Corsair TX550M La finalité de ce NAS est d'utiliser Plex via Docker et de pouvoir faire du transcodage 4 canaux sur du H265 10 bits 1080p mini. Le PC tournera H24, un peu comme mon PC Gaming ^^ En DD, j'ai 2x10To + 4x6To. En SHR, c'est intéressant car il n'y a pas de perte. L'évolution sera de tout passer en 10To. Je m'interroge aussi sur l'adjonction éventuelle d'un autre contrôleur réseau et/ou d'un contrôleur RAID ou SATA. J'ai un doute quant au besoin du GPU Quadro sur la config Intel... à voir selon vos retours. J'aurais besoin d'un point de vue sur la question de l'onduleur. J'aimerais en avoir un capable de gérer 2 PC + le NAS. Merci d'avance

I use an ASRock Z370M Pro4 motherboard (with 6 Sata Ports) and a LSI SAS 9211-8i (IT) host bus adapter (8 ports), which gives me 14 drives in total as well. You could go for two LSI SAS 9211-8i hba's in IT mode or search for another hba. Here's an extreme case you might want to look at

Hi guys, So, i've tried to get a new Xpenology up and running, on some hardware that was given to me. About 7 months ago a colleague, helped me get a Xpenology up and running, on some old hardware from our workplace. We are talking Intel Celeron D in a old HP Compaq dc7600. I can't really remember the process, but i think he already had made a bootloader, and downloaded the DSM he knew worked. And it does work, and it's been running almost nonstop since we made it. But now, i got a much newer mediacenter pc from another colleague, which i would like to make into a much stronger NAS. The new pc consists of a ASRock H77 Pro4-M, 8gb of RAM and a 60gb Kingston SSD(which will be upgraded, when the DSM is running) I use a Kingston Datatraveler 3.0 16gb USB stick. I've tried almost all the bootloaders, except 1.04b, because my CPU is too old for that. 1.02b, 1.03b in 3615, 3617 and 916. So far, the 1.02b 3615 is the only one, where i was actually able to get a IP-address. But after some reboots, totalt formats and much frustration, i cannot get it to work. I use the extra driver package, because of the NIC(Realtek RTL8111E ). I've gotten so far as installing the DSM(23824) but after it restarted i did not get a IP-address. So, what am i doing wrong? And what can ido?
