About Me

  1. Hi, this morning I have an issue with my n54L dsm 6 update 2 ... I can't acces webinterface and my shared network don't display. I can do a ping on the server. If I connect a screen on the server nothing seems to be wired. The only thing I do is to reboot the Nas (with the reboot option in the web interface). As it doesn't work, I update de usb flashdrive with jun 1.01 loader (I changed the grub option) What can I do ? I didn't try to access server with ssh. In the grub option, I haven't use the sataportmap option. Do I have to ? (I have 5 disks) Thanks for your help.

    Working DSM 6

Got this successfully installed on my Q1900-ITX baremetal with no problems using Jun's 1.1 bootloader (huge THANKS btw). Data and settings migrated fully. However, the storage manager says my drives are part of an expansion unit, and I cannot read the SMART information anymore (no problems on 5.2). I did the force-install as I got the 'disk port disabled' error at first, and it worked just fine. Should I go back and add the SATAPortMap line?
  6. Then you haven't read the instructions till the end. I recommend you do so as what you are asking is clearly addressed in the tutorial. I read it, again, still do not see any info regrading the above. something else, I enabled my Realtek NIC and now I can find the NAS, which means that the loader does not have drivers for my Intel 82580 NIC only for Realtek, Posted Here a driver request. do you know if Marvell 88SE9215 SATA controller driver is also included? also when I find my NAS I get SATA disabled, I tried SataPortMap=44, I have 4 onboard SATA port and 4 more on a MAREVL expension card, can you help? I apologise. I misread you. You are not getting the: early consol in decompress_kernel Decompressing Linux.. Parsing ELF… done. Booting the kernel most probably because you are booting in efi mode. If you were booting the usb drive in legacy (bios) mode you would see those lines. That's nothing to worry about though. The sata port disabled is due to a problem with your HDD mapping. Try using the Force Install menu entry in the grub boot menu. However I am not sure about the Marvel. Try looking in the main thread which drivers are supported. Trantor and Arcao compiled the modules. EDIT: I found this in the main thread: Marvell 88SE9235 is working fine, take care you've to update the .cfg file in order to support number of disks you've connected Also make sure you are using AHCI and not IDE.

Gracias!

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

I should have posted my motherboard specs. I have a GA-B150M-D3H. I dont think there are two separate SATA controllers? If there is, then maybe my problem is the SataPortMap=6?

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Hello! I have DSM6.0.2 with the updates working on my bare metal installation. I have 4 disks (Raid5), one SSD 128GB (SSD Cache), and one 8TB which was just for backup purpose. In the grub file, I put 6 drives for sataportmap. I see all the drives but can not add the 8TB as a separate volume (Volume 2). When I go to the storage manager, the "Create" under volume is greyed out. Is there something I am missing? I am not sure which ram version I am using in the boot disk.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

The new kernel will not in effect, unless manually copy it to the right place. Since Intel machines are in fact using unmodified synology kernel, I am considering restructure the boot partition's to closely match synology's, so that new kernel will take effect automatically, but this has the potential risk of a small upgrade may break a working system. Hi @Jun & @Arcao & Community. Thanks again for your work. All functions on my servers (in signature) normally work, more than a month. Prompt me please, I can normally upgrade to Update3, if now I use a Hybrid UEFI/BIOS baremetal image setsunakawa (on 10 page), but with replaced the image/DS3615xs/ramdisk.lzma in the boot partition from the image in your, Jun, first post (on page 1). Now my grub.cfg files are as follows: first server (Intel D2700MUD): set default='0' set timeout='2' set fallback='0' menuentry 'Synology DS3615xs' --class os { insmod fat linux /image/DS3615xs/zImage root=/dev/md0 syno_hdd_powerup_seq=0 netif_num=1 HddHotplug=0 SataPortMap=2 syno_hw_version=DS3615xs vid=0x**** pid=0x**** console=uart,io,0x3f8,115200n8 sn=********** mac1=********** withefi elevator=your_magic_elevator quiet initrd /image/DS3615xs/ramdisk.lzma } second server (Asus P8z68vlx): set default='0' set timeout='2' set fallback='0' menuentry 'Synology DS3615xs' --class os { insmod fat linux /image/DS3615xs/zImage root=/dev/md0 syno_hdd_powerup_seq=0 netif_num=1 HddHotplug=0 SataPortMap=5 syno_hw_version=DS3615xs vid=0x**** pid=0x**** console=uart,io,0x3f8,115200n8 sn=********** mac1=********** withefi elevator=your_magic_elevator quiet initrd /image/DS3615xs/ramdisk.lzma } Thankyou.
  15. Your sata controller is a C226 Datasheet : http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/pu ... asheet.pdf Only one controller for 6 sata HDD Use : sataportmap=6 I try that but i still get the error that HDD 5,6 are damaged and sata ports are disabled .... when i boot up with the old 5.2 everything is fine This is clearly mentioned in the OP. Try a force install.
  16. Fully remove 'sataportmap=xx' comment? See what it does? Also make sure in BIOS setting for USB drive is on HDD-emulation, not AUTO etc.

Maybe there are more than one controllers on board? You could try setting sataportmap to 44. In the various "DSM 6" threads around, i've noticed that many says that setting the sataportmap parameter isn't necessary with Jun's loader v1.01. I would like to make the attempt to migrate from 5.2 to 6 but would like to have this clarified.

i try a update in my dell t20. the machine is booting but when i go to the page for migrate then there is only a text wich say hdd 5 and 6 have error and sata ports are disabled. i can´t click the button for migrate. What i´m doing wrong ? I set vid and pid in grub cfg also sataportmap to 4
  22. Make sure you are able to boot from a usb key. You need to check in the bios that this feature is enabled. Yes sataportmap=4 should be fine if you have 4 drives. A bios reset somtimes help.
  23. Thanks, i can access the efi partition this way. So it looks like this part is okay: the grub.cfg has all the neccessary update I have changed to SataPortMap=4 , i have 4 disk in my Gen8, is this okay? The Gen8 wont boot from this pendrive where can i change to boot from UEFI?
Reiniciar. 7 - Si tienes un monitor conectado en tu NAS veras algo como esto: Code: Select all early consol in decompress_kernel Decompressing Linux.. Parsing ELF… done. Booting the kernel. Ahora ve a find.synology.com y busca tu NAS. Si obtienes el siguiente error ''Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted. (13)'' significa que tu VID/PID es incorrecto. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
