  2. Hi JvZ There is a thread with DSM 4.2 3202 repack for DS3612xs in a torrent file here http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=555&start=40#p1436 I have the "original 3202" and haven't used this repacked file, but i'm seeding the torrent. Please try it and give us your feedback. Thanks!
  3. Just the x86 version, which kinda... sucks.
  4. Hi guys, I switched from FreeNAS to XPEnology and i am really happy that i found this project. I will be thrilled to use the following additional hardware that doesn't work now: APC UPS Back UPS ES 700 with USBtoSerial connection ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 10/100/1000 LAN Adapter Silicon Image SiI3114 PCI SATA 4 CHANNEL (2 EXT + 4 INT PORTS ) RAID CARD As OS, i am using the following: Linux nas 3.2.30 #3202 SMP Fri Mar 1 01:03:15 CST 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux synology_bromolow_3612xs And this is some additional information about the system: lsusb bash-3.2# lsusb Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0b95:1790 ASIX Electronics Corp. I don't do code but i can understand it. Anyhow, it seems that i need something that i can't find anymore published, meaning: the bromolow x64 3203branch from the Synology NAS GPL Source or the bromolow x64 3202branch from the Synology NAS GPL Source and the Intel x64 Linux 3.2.30 (Bromolow) DSM 4.2 Tool Chains Please help me Thanks!
  5. Now, that's strange. I have 4.2 3202 on 4 HDDs and took one of them today for service and before wiping i saw that there were about 4 partitions on it but the one for the system is quite small, nevertheless, not 300GB
  6. DSM is installing on all HDDs in the defined RAID or just on one HDD if you don't have a RAID matrix defined. I tried to install it on a flash but i couldn't and i didn't tried alot. I think it could be done with VirtualBox and some commandline but it's not really recommended because of many things.
  7. What are you trying to do? To update from the flash dongle or to install DSM on it?
  8. I have perl installed via the Official Synology package server. You can try a manual install with the latest file from: http://ukdl.synology.com/download/packages/ You should take bromolow if i'm not wrong. Cheers PS: you will have to perform manual updates if the official package center is not available, but i think you figured this out by yourself
  9. From what i know, USB speakers or need some additional drivers on all OSes. Windows has them included, and probably also linux but DSM is a stripped down version of Linux. Mostly probable you will need to compile some drivers, which i must say.... It's not easy. I have the same problem with 3 additional hardware of my own and didn't had the time to play with.
  10. Try the following: http://packages.synocommunity.com http://e-remonty.info/spkrepo/packages http://packages.missilehugger.com/ http://www.cphub.net/ http://synopkg.superzebulon.org/spkrepo/packages http://packages.pcloadletter.co.uk/ http://update.10trum.de/packageupdate/getpackages.php http://synology.mdevries.org/spkrepo/packages http://synology.sysco.ch http://packages.hoel.dk/ http://spk.q14six.de/ http://packages.quadrat4.de http://synobox.fr.nf/synopackages/ http://www.christoph-papke.de/spkrepo/spkrepo/packages http://packages.pcloadletter.co.uk http://spk.unzureichende.info/ http://pvr.unzureichende.info/synology http://packages.quadrat4.de/ http://packages.synocommunity.com/ http://synology.sysco.ch/
  11. have you tried build 3202? The only problem i had is the "additional" hardware i have like PCI-SATA-ESATA RAID CONTROLLER (not really a branded one) and a GIGABIT USB3.0 Network Card. The rest of the system works let's say... native.

    PAt files

The sources for 3211 are not yet publicly available. Anyhow, look at the changelog. Nothing really interesting.
  13. Well... 1). i don't have a Microserver 2). don't know what to do with the 2 files. do you want me to write that img to my nas installation? 3). what to do with the modules? How to load them? What for?

  15. Hi guys, I've decided to open a thread specially for the UPS problems. Maybe by collaborating we can make these issues go away. My issue: APC ES700 is not known by my XPEnology

  18. Yes. Have tried it successfully on ASUS E35M1-I (AMD E-350) Thanks for info, will try it. This is what i have: CASE: Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced CPU: AMD E-350 1,6Ghz Dual Core - Zacate (comes with the MB) MB: Gigabyte E-350N (17cmx17cm mITX with 4 SATA ports, CPU included, Dual Channel 1066 RAM) RAM: GeIL Black Dragon 16GB (2 x 8GB. Cheap. ZFS on FreeNAS was needing lots of RAM) FAN: Noctua NF-S12B FLX (replaced the side 80mm fan with this one. It's really silent and has exceptional performance) PSU: Seasonic S12II-430 Bronze 430W (overkill, but the fan doesn't spin and when it spins, it also helps the ventilation) HDD1: Western Digital RED (WD30EFRX) HDD2: Western Digital RED (WD30EFRX) HDD3: Seagate Barracuda (ST3000DM001) HDD4: Seagate Barracuda (ST3000DM001) Additionally, these following 3 items are not compatible: 1). PCI-SATA-eSATA 4 CHANNEL, 4 PORT RAID CARD 2). USB 3.0 Network Adapter 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit LAN, RJ45 3). APC UPS ES700 VA Sound meter: 37dBi (nice and quiet) Watt meter: 55W in full load (wasn't really keen to measure it in idle)
  19. I have the following configuration since i prepared this NAS for FreeNAS: CASE: Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced CPU: AMD E-350 1,6Ghz Dual Core - Zacate (comes with the MB) MB: Gigabyte E-350N (17cmx17cm mITX with 4 SATA ports, CPU included, Dual Channel 1066 RAM) RAM: GeIL Black Dragon 16GB (2 x 8GB. Cheap. ZFS on FreeNAS was needing lots of RAM) FAN: Noctua NF-S12B FLX (replaced the side 80mm fan with this one. It's really silent and has exceptional performance) PSU: Seasonic S12II-430 Bronze 430W (overkill, but the fan doesn't spin and when it spins, it also helps the ventilation) HDD1: Western Digital RED (WD30EFRX) HDD2: Western Digital RED (WD30EFRX) HDD3: Seagate Barracuda (ST3000DM001) HDD4: Seagate Barracuda (ST3000DM001) Additionally, these following 3 items are not compatible: 1). PCI-SATA-eSATA 4 CHANNEL, 4 PORT RAID CARD 2). USB 3.0 Network Adapter 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit LAN, RJ45 3). APC UPS ES700 VA Sound meter: 37dBi (nice and quiet) Watt meter: 55W in full load (wasn't really keen to measure it in idle)
  20. I have 2 x 8GB and it's a bit overkill, but i had this since i was using FreeNAS. Apparently DSM 4.2 build 3202 doesn't need more than 2GB. Maybe i'm talking bullshit but this is what i saw on my xpe box
  21. Not yet published in GPL (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/f ... %20Source/)
