Hi, I successfully migrate my Gen10 Plus (Xeon E-2224) with redpill and Tinycore. I used loader for DS3622XS & DSM 7.0.1, and choose to migrate my data. (I came from DS3617XS and dsm 6.2.3) Everything was smooth and i didn't loose anything. I can confirm also that with DS3622XS,i can see my 4 CPU Core (insteed of 1 with 3615XS & 918+) Great job guys ! Many thanks ! Note : I blocked Internet during setup/Migration but maybe not needed anymore.

Hi! I made a little tool which can help you to get your XPEnology up & running without installing any software. It contains (as portable versions): - Nirsoft's USB device view (helps to identify the VID & PID of your USB boot media) - V2.76 - XPEnology Serial Generator for DS3615XS, DS3617XS and DS916+ (a converted version of the HTML site) - Win32 DiskImager (to write your modified synoboot.img to your USB boot media) - V1.0 (only available in V1.4.1) - OSFMount x64 (to mount the synoboot.img and modifiy it) - V1.5 - Notepad++ (best editor for changing values inside grub.cfg) - V7.5.3 - Synology Assistant (useful tool from Synology to find your XPEnology and install DSM) - V6.2-23733 - TFTP/DHCP portable (a small TFTP, DHCP and Syslog server by Ph. Jounin) - V4.6.2 - MiniTool Partition Wizard 10 (helps assigning already formatted/written USB devices to modify existing grub.cfg) - V10.3 - SoftPerfect Network Scanner - V6.2.1 - USB Image Tool - V1.75 - New: Rufus - V3.3 In the section "Downloads" all links open corresponding websites to download the files. For beginners I added a small HowTo for bare-metal installation. Update New link for download: https://mega.nz/#F!BtViHIJA!uNXJtEtXIWR0LNYUEpBuiA The download link/folder also contains @IG-88's extra.lzma (V0.6) for the DS918+. You'll have to run it "As Administrator" because some of these tools (like Win32 DiskImager) need to be executed with higher rights. Thanks put some old disk with a previous DSM in my GEN8 on the HBA , and migrated to DS3622xs+ and all appears OK ! .. Next step is to migrate actual disks.

Hi All, I just have made a successfully Baremetal migration from my HP Microserver GEN 8 version DS3615xs (broadwell-7.0.1-42218) to DS3617xs (broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218) without any issues inclusive settings and data's. To make sure , that the migration will not destroy my data's and settings I have made a test with old harddisks before. The only thing to be adapted after the migration, was the logical LAN apdapter setting from DHCP to fix address. Many thanks to @pocopico and all active community members for this great project !!!

I understand that there is no longer an issue of having to cut off the Internet to remove the phenomenon of stopping at 55% of DSM installations.

does it works ?

@Aigor I guess the how to is there : I did not disable internet access during the migration (I have a real SN/MAC)

Hi All, So I finally made the big jump. I migrated my prod ESXi DS3615xs 6.2.3 jun's to ESXi DS3622xs+ 7.0.1 RP. All went very smooth, all apps were migrated successfully, only those not available on DSM7 were "stopped/incompatible" All my shares are here, docker migrated without any manual action. As I reminder i'm using a LSI HBA IT card to passthrough my 4x4Tb disks All good exept disk starting in position 2 (strange behavior with LSI HBA passthrough) All my SMART info are there : Synology Moments migrated to Synology Photos and is currently indexing all photos. Es gibt etwas für 3617xs, allerdings habe ich mir das nie näher angesehen bzw. nur überflogen. Ich wüsste jetzt auch nicht auf Anhieb wo die entsprechenden Posts dazu zu finden sind, vor allem den Post zum Thema "wie baue ich mir selber eine pat-Datei für die Update Versionen". Diesem Forum fehlt leider eine Art persönliches Wiki/Blog, in dem man bspw. Tipps & Tricks und nützliche Links sammeln könnte und aktuell halten könnte. In so einem Bereich hätte ich solche Links festgehalten, da die Threads hier teilweise hunderte von Seiten haben, die keiner mehr wirklich durchblicken kann.
