According to user reports and my experience so far, Broadwellnk (DS3622xs+) is the only platform that can start WOL and auto power on REDPILL. There are reports of other platforms not working, not sure why. So now I was able to test again. I sent the magic packet via Synology Asstistant as well via Mac Terminal wakeonlan MAC-ADDRESS but in both cases the NAS remains offline. @Peter Suh @pocopico Edited September 30, 2022 by Dreadnought

If your system supports WoL (usually only with onboard LAN) then the link should be up Edited September 30, 2022 by pocopico

Today I installed DSM 7.1.0 (DS3617xs) via ARPL and WOL is working. I am able to activate the WOL option within the energy settings and I am able to send the magic package and the NAS started as intended. Update1: and the hardware power button is also working out-of-the-box. Now I am testing with DS3622xs... Update2: DSM 7.1.0 (DS3622xs) via ARPL and WOL is working too, but not the hardware power button. But this issue I will address in the ARPL forum. Update3: The hardware power button is working too, but I had to do a reboot after the installation of DSM. @pocopico @Peter Suh Edited October 1, 2022 by Dreadnought info regarding DS3622xs hardware power button

MajkelP Posted October 2, 2022 Share #292 Posted October 2, 2022 Hi, I would like ask for "safe" instruction how to update from DSM 7.1.0-42661 Update 4 to DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1. My model is DS3622xsp, I am on ESXi 6.7. Last time I updated DSM via GUI rebooted and I used these commands: ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh postupdate broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 exitcheck.sh reboot and update went without any issues. This time I am not quite sure if above steps work. In custom hardware build I could build new loader using tinycore-redpill.v0.9.2.6 and replace USB stick and edit config.json file and change (vid and pid and keep DSM serial no. and mac address), but in VM? I do not want brick my system Thanks
pocopico Posted October 2, 2022 Author Share #293 Posted October 2, 2022 @Peter Suh you have some BIOS updates available for your motherboard. I would start from there. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/All-series/TUF-B450M-PLUS-GAMING/HelpDesk_BIOS/

You can copy these to a cifs/smb file share and then if needed copy over the file into the third partition loader and use the ./rploader.sh restoreloader to restore. Thanks pocopico. There is an option to "Read Only Allocated Partitions" that is usefull, that way you can dump all three partitions, and not the full drive, and save them in an IMG file on your computer. You can then flash it to another drive or restore it if necessary later... Thanks.

And, with the log of loading DS920+ normally from the existing TCRP, I compared the kernel panic logs from TCRP friends. Isn't the last "dom_szmax=14796.8" part related to Sata_dom? Isn't it an unnecessary part in bare metal using USB? I'm wondering if it will affect USB booting. As the above option again affects the memory allocation area, as in the second capture There seems to be a difference in the memory address notation part as well. I re-upload the full log of both loaders and the capture I compared. I hope this helps in the cause analysis. I will have a look at buildroot configuration for that.
