I have decided to stay on my 918 build on 6.2.3 for now as theres no work around to get hw transcoding to work with this loader or an ability to run more than 2 cameras in dsm7 with 918\920 loaders I actually bought that DVA3221 physical unit and for the first setup it does search Internet for something, THEN creates volume and the surveillance package automatically. So when I build a red-pill loader for DVA3221 I assume it would do the same and since the key is gen-ed so it fails the test and fall back for normal NAS 2cam license. In the meantime I'm trying to get a video card to get the AI to work, as I have many jobs to run to search for people/vehicle objects that I need a second unit. I'm thinking purchasing the Quadro P2000 as it's been tested by previous post.

franky52 Posted May 11, 2022 Share #169 Posted May 11, 2022 I was finally able to create a DV3221 VM in Unraid! Thank you both. But I´m not able to use virtio as network because I get the same error as erazor1112. ######################################################################## 100.0% [#] Verifying /home/tc/redpill-load/custom/extensions/pocopico.v9fs/dva3221_42661/check-v9fs.sh file... [OK] [-] Recipe file for extension pocopico.v9fs platform dva3221_42661 is logically invalid - recipe defines kmod virtio_blk.ko *FILE* which doesn't exist after all files entries are processed. You SHOULD contact the extension packer to report that (see below) [!] Failed to dump extension pocopico.v9fs for platform dva3221_42661 as its recipe file cannot be retrieved. Isn't the extension misspelled or not supported on that platform? *** Process will exit *** [!] Failed to dump all extensions for dva3221_42661 platform to /home/tc/redpill-load/build/1652295433/custom-initrd/exts - see errors above *** Process will exit *** FAILED : Loader creation failed check the output for any errors Any idea? I´m totally fine with intel e1000, but virtio would give more flexibility (or maybe I´m mistaken 😀) Thank you.

I use also the e1000 but this works only when adding the extension and do a manual build: ./rploader.sh ext denverton-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/e1000/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh build denverton-7.1.0-42661 manual I tried virtio with different versions without success (denverton-7.0.1-42218, denverton-7.1.0-42621, denverton-7.1.0-42661) Maybe something wrong with the package, or not compatible with denverton in general... erazor1112 Posted May 12, 2022 Share #172 Posted May 12, 2022 @pocopico thanks, now it works also with virtio without any error messages is there a reason to prefer using virtio or does it not matter?

Usually virtual NICs represent 10Gbe or faster (check the port speed for a clue). This is meaningful if you have a 10Gbe network, or if there are other VMs that can take advantage of the virtual switch internal speed. If you are only running a single VM for the purpose of running DSM, and your physical NIC is 1 Gbe, it doesn't matter.
