Thanks, alot for this info. I was just wondering. One thing i do like is TCRP Friend is Auto Updated on reboot if there is a new version. And yes it is easier to update via the GUI then downloading the file. from Synology.

Hi @Peter Suh & @pocopico For some odd reason i am still getting No Internet on the DSM Update Page. I have installed this on my GEN8 different versions and on proxmox and all the same. can you let me know why this happens and how to fix it please. Thanks

Lets start over. 1. I started with DS3622xs+ as per our discussions. This worked but due to the Disks you Recommend that i move to DS1621xs+ 2. I created and new USB Of DS1621xs+ and this was the one that had an issue and shutdown after the loader. It asked to Migrate that i did and then on reboot it had a fit but the Loader was as per your screenshot. 3. I added back DS3622xs+ and migrated again and this is up and running. So this is where i am right now. I need to move to DS1621xs+ again due to the Disk changes since i only have 4 disks in my server. I am not sure if it will break again and i had the same screen as per you @Peter Suh

When you do the Migrate it ask for the DSM File or Auto i use the Manual Method and select the Main DSM and let it to is thing. I download it from the Synology Site Once in the GUI Under the DSM Verion i have no Internet for that but i do have Internet. Should i do this again and this time use the Auto Method for DSM to download ? I do not have an Serial Cable or anything i just have my screen connected so i can see the loader etc...

Correct i moved back and i am up and running. I do not know why my System did what it did. Also i see you have an Internet Connection for DSM i do not know why this does this on my stuff oh well. What do you Recommend i do here please to get this working

So it loads the loader i can see it loaded 100%. Then the disks start to read and write as per usual. then i just hear the disks spin down and then the machine shuts down. I Rolled back to the other USB I have DS3622xs+ Update 2 and i managed to get the system up again. The only difference was those 2 settings I remove on DS1621xs+ as per what you stated on the notes.

Hi @Peter Suh I just migrated and now the machine loads then just shuts down. I cannot even get into the GUI now. Any help please.

HI @Peter Suh As you mentioned it loaded got the error about the DiskIdxMap & SaraPortmap. Where is this listed in the forms on the Tutorals to remove this value. I checked your M Shell and the Bare Metal installs and no where it states this for users to remove these values. Or did i miss this somewhere. Thanks

OH i did not know that, was not on the main page to show what is all supported. Now i take it i need to start over on a new USB Key and just use the same steps as before and just change DS1621xs+ for my HP MicroServer GEN8. Before i start change the netif_num to 2 save it and run the mysh build. Once his is done change the user config and remove the 2 values as per what you stated then save and run noconfig noclean

I know i am asking a lot of questions and like i mentioned last time this info is all not in 1 place and all over the forms for some of it. It is showing me 16 Bay when i only have 4 Disks. So i need to reboot go back to the build loader. Do i edit the user config file and then run the below or what is the correct process once the system is all working. ./my.sh DS3622xs+F noconfig noclean Thanks again.

Hi @Peter Suh My disks are all setup and was upgraded. I used the new DSM and per what you stated last time so that is good. How do i now edit the user config and not break this.

Hi @Peter Suh I have managed to migrate my HP MicroServer GEN8 to the latest Loader and DSM Update 2. I do have 1 issue thou are i changed the IP on the DSM GUI but the IP on the loader is different and i think i lost internet access due to this how do i fix the loader to show my static IP i need please. Thanks again so the issue was i needed to change this before running the commands.

Hi @pocopico I have updated it to 2 MAC and 2 for the netif_num and still the same issues. I do have 2 NIC's Disabled in the BIOS on my MicroServerr GEN8 & using the HP 1GB NIC 2 Port for the main NIC. Thanks

Hi @Peter Suh I am doing a Test Migration on my server now removed all disks and going to reboot to see if it loads 100%. During the install process now i found this. Do I need to worry about it. cpio: dev/console: Cannot mknod: Operation not permitted cpio: dev/net/tun: Cannot mknod: Operation not permitted Thanks again EDIT: On Reboot i got this now. FAILED to match the count of configured netif_num and mac addresses, DSM will panic, exiting so you can fix this.
