I do not know what the hell happened. I just tested this on my Proxmox setup and now it worked 100%. Thanks again @Peter Suh I have been getting strange issues 2nd time a charm. EDIT: Internet Connection to check for DSM is Disabled again and the Default setup was used so i am not sure why this is the case.

When I used your myshell ./my.sh DS3622xs+F realmac as per - https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/61839-tinycore-redpill-loader-build-support-tool-m-shell/ the user config file was 0 so no data was getting written to it.

HI @Peter Suh Did you find anything wrong in the commands that i used of yours or did i miss a step. Please let me know as the commands i posted worked if i ran then like that. Thanks again.

Hi All, I just want to find out if Internet Access to look for updates is disabled by Default in the Loader. I am managed to build DS3622xs and update it to Update 2 no issues at all Manually. Also what is the latest version that is supported, or does it not matter now since the withfriend keeps it uptodate ? -
- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1 - Loader version and model: TCRP FRIEND v0.9.2.9 DS3622xs+ - Using Custom Extras: redpill-virtio + redpill-acpid - Installation type: Proxmox, HP DL360 G7 - Additional comments: Updated Via DSM GUI - Uploaded File Manually - Auto Search Not Working For Updates

This is all really giving me some headaches with all of this. I am trying to get my Micro server upgraded but since testing is failing i am very worried to do this.
-
I found the file but it is Empty so this is the reason. Why would this be i ran the commands as per what you stated.
-
Hi @Peter Suh I ran the commands as per what you stated and on the second run to check that all is ok i got this at the end of the logs [#] Generating GRUB config... include/boot-image.sh: line 148: extra_cmdline['sn']: unbound variable FAILED : Loader creation failed check the output for any errors Removing redpill.ko ... Backup in progress... Cleaning redpill-load directory and pat files in auxfiles directory skipped!!! Please make sure you are using the latest 1GB img before using backup option Current /home/tc size is 436M , try to keep it less than 1GB as it might not fit into your image Should i update the sdb with your current files [Yy/Nn] Backing up home files to sdb : Backing up files to /mnt/sdb3//mydata.tgz Done. tc@box:~$ [#] Generating GRUB config... include/boot-image.sh: line 148: extra_cmdline['sn']: unbound variable -sh: [#]: not found tc@box:~$ FAILED : Loader creation failed check the output for any errors -sh: FAILED: not found tc@box:~$

Hi @Peter Suh I have spotted some things different on some installs and just want to make sure. 1. On the VM you have SCSI and others SATA as a disk type & write cache enabled 2. The NIC is the Vitro one and others is Realtek Also the commands to add. Yes i know the below will take the variables from the script that i have to add in the info but the other settings. --args "-device 'qemu-xhci,addr=0x18' -drive 'id=synoboot,file=/var/lib/vz/images/${id}/tinycore-redpill.img,if=none,format=raw' -device 'usb-storage,drive=synoboot,bootindex=1'" \ Vs echo "args: -device 'nec-usb-xhci,id=usb-bus0,multifunction=on' -drive 'file=/var/lib/vz/images/101/tinycore-redpill.v0.9.2.9.img,media=disk,format=raw,if=none,id=drive-disk-bootloader' -device 'usb-storage,bus=usb-bus0.0,port=1,drive=drive-disk-bootloader,id=usb-disk-bootloader,bootindex=999,removable=on'" >> /etc/pve/qemu-server/101.conf Thanks again

Hi @Peter Suh I was just asking since i followed the guidance from @pocopico See here - https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/61750-how-to-install-tcrp-on-proxmox/page/3/#comment-356655 So far what I did i had no issues with the install on Proxmox. I have 2 machines i need to upgrade so just want to make sure all is good before i proceed There is so many different guides on how to do things and i do get lost. Thanks
-
Hi @Peter Suh Thanks again for this but is there any chance to get an updated tutorial for Bare Metal please, since there seems to be a change in the process and commands. E.G: ./rploader.sh build ds3622xsp-7.1.1-42962 withfriend the new functions. Thanks
-
Thanks so so much @pocopico Once this was checked i built it again and once Rebooted it went to Friend Loader and now i can build the NAS. Appreciate the time to help me here and setting this all up. Thanks again.
-
Thanks will do so i mean there is the Build Image and then Friend when i reboot so i go back to Build Image correct. Sorry for all the questions here this is new to me so want to make sure it is correct.
-
Hi @pocopico So that install worked. I updated the SN and MAC but after i rebooted it is showing me Tiny Core Friend and SN and MAC Missing. When i reboot do i go back to the same options and see why this was not updated or do i use the Friend option now.
