  1. hallo, whats systemboards you are talking about exactly from your link and the fact you already tried SataPortMap without success it seems sata_remap would be the one to use [from]>[to] and : as seperator for scenario 1 that would be sata_remap=5>3:6>4
  2. sat>ip can be used with all kinds of dvb, not just dvb-s/s2 minisatip is a software solution to build your own sat>ip server, when using a linux base (it does not has to be x86, can be ARM too, like a raspi i guess), that way you could just use any dvb-t2 stick that works with the linux you install, the sat>ip can be used by tvheadend over network and the shield gets its signal from tvheadend as long as its not recording (with just one tuner there are limits), in theory with more tuners you can assign one tuner to dsm/tvheadend and have another network device (the shield) use the other tuner directly (without tvheadend), but i guess its better to assign all resourcses to tvheadend and use tvheadend for recording and streaming you get minisatip for lots of platforms, you could even use a router as base system (when you manage to install dvb drivers) https://freetoairamerica.wordpress.com/2016/01/12/minisatip-a-possible-way-to-extend-the-distance-between-a-satellite-dish-and-your-tvheadend-or-other-backend-server/

[Wed Apr 4 19:51:56 2018] r8168: eth0: link up [Wed Apr 4 19:51:56 2018] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready ... technically for the driver it works, the driver detects a hardware and does not crash but its still jun's driver not the one from the extra.lzma that is loaded the one in my extra.lzma i version "8.045.08-NAPI" i cant see any 2nd nic, just the realtek and it seem to load and get ready as eth0 as it would be the only one whats the other nic? anobard? what systemboard? i'd guess the 2nd is nvidia chipset based and jun's loader does not contain nvidia forcedeth.ko driver so only the additional card is working the fact that the log is about jun's realtek driver (older version) indicates that my extra.lzma is not used oder properly installed as it is not loaded, my extra.lzma also contains a driver for nvidia so if it's loaded i guess both nic's will be seen simple method to test, disconnect disks, remove realtek card, boot from usb flash drive if the nvidia driver works the synology assistant should find something, if not check installation of extra.lzma on flash drive
  4. maybe Minisatip is a possible solution? it's an open source software implementing a SAT>IP server application that runs under Linux did try this to use my quad dvb-s2 pci-e card in media pc for tvheadend on my dsm 6.1 but finaly anded with a Telestar Digibit R1 with custom firmware from usb also using Minisatip
  5. it has a realtek 8168/8111 chip so it should work with jun's 10.2b loader ootb, you can also try my extra.lzma, it contains a newer version of the realtek driver if your system is already running with a different card, whats in the log about the 2nd card (var/log/dmesg)
  6. he asked for his hardware, i3 530? not even close, wont boot with 916+, needs at least a 4th gen intel core (Haswell)
  7. that about dsm is partly true, it cant handle odd's as it comes from synology but on the other hand we already compiled drivers for other stuff so it might be possible but that would only mahe sense when there would packages making use of it like mp3/dvd/br ripping (and they dont exist because there ist no odd support natively in dsm , ...) but in your case its about a usb device that is just handed over to a (win10) vm, in this case the host system does not need to have a driver, the vm does need a driver according to this https://www.synology.com/en-global/releaseNote/Virtualization?model=RS18016xs%2B usb passtrough is supported since VMM Version: 2.2.0-8460 also look here (screenshot) https://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?t=132965
  8. i3 530, 916+ wont even boot with that, 3617 is only beneficial if you have a 8+ core count so 3615 is best for your case (and most) also, if needed you can upgrade to another verseion, usually settings will be kept and plugins usually will have to be reinstalled (in availible for the new version) but will work with the former settings so its still possible to install 3617 later if you think you could profit from it, the data volume is never touched in these step so you keep all the data
  9. connect one empty disk to a sata working (like onboard), install dsm, see in /var/log/dmesg whats in it about the controller in question
  10. cxd2820r.ko, em28xx_dvb.ko and em28xx.ko are part of the dvbbackports in dsm (as to expect), but can be difficult to find a equivalent with such outdated hardware like the 290e also possible would be to check if a driver for the hardware in question is present in dsm this is a list of dvb-t2 usb solutions with chips named https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T2_USB_Devices in other cases like finds on ebay/aliexpress it can be difficult to find out whats under the hood
  11. you would need a serial port an the system that installs dsm and you would connect that with a serial cable to another system and use putty over serial as console for most people thats to much (they dont even have a serial cable and if the computer that is used as console does not have a serial ports you would also need a usb2serial converter), in you case the easiest way would be to install a 2nd nic, install dsm with it and when dsm boots normal you can (over network with 2nd nic) check the logs to see whats wrong with the onboard realtek and if its to much hassle just leave the 2nd nic and use it for dsm and ignore the onbard nic
  12. i was more thinking about the driver, very likely that its not working at all with dsm, mechanical thing might be a luxury yes, that was my thought too, often you can find information about the hardware from people who tried it with linux, also possible to habe a look into the windows drivers and inf files to find out whats behind the fancy name there is also a alternative if you find a sat>ip based solution with dvb-t2 this one is a (expansive) example https://digitaldevices.de/produkte/netzwerk-tv-tuner/ if you have 2 or more tuners in mind sat>ip solutions come in handy as you dont have to care about usb or pci-e
  13. the synology device db does conains at least one dvb-t2 device "PCTV DVB-T2 290e/292e nanoStick" it might be possible to dig out what chipset it contains and find a cheaper one with the same chipset but not guaranties the cheaper one will work, differences in the tuner chip might be a problem in that area
  14. i dint think this will be capable of dvb-t2 https://www.augustint.com/en/productmsg-34-52.html they are not so explicit about what dvb is supported but if you have a closer look at the packages it only contains a dvb-t logo the newer product T305 https://www.augustint.com/en/productmsg-34-255.html has a dvb-t2 logo on the package, so i guess the T202 will not be able to handle dvb-t2 (different modulation -> different hardware needed, it like dvb-s to dvb-s2) edit: amazon comments (depending on language) clearly show that T202 cant handle dvb-t2
  16. if the ahci driver does not work then it might need the sata_nv.ko but all sata_* drivers form the dms 6.1 synology kernel source do not work because of changes synology made you can verify by booting a live linux and check about the drivers used with lspci -k | grep 'Kernel driver' as far as i can find nForce 630a -> MCP68 -> ahci driver (did you check bios that the sata ports are usind ahci - if there is any option)
  17. not sure what your disk configuration is but even with 12 disks i "only" get ~500MB/s, there is more (900MB/s) for about a few second when writing data to nas goes to ram (source pc for this has nvme ssd so the satat3 limit of ~550MB/s can be broken) if you want to test network speed without possible limits of disks on both sides involved you can try netio there are versions for windows and linux (netio-x86_64) you just copy the binary to you system(s) and run it on both sides to measure even if you get a nice number, it does not help you much getting more speed out of the system, for more write speed you can have 2 ssd's as write cache for a volume in dsm (in bare metal there is the sata3 limit atm) and for reading (uncached) data there is just more disks or going all ssd drives (having 6 ssd's in raid config might be able to reach the 1000MB/s?) there is also the approach to use nvme with esxi and virtual dsm like @flyride did, but i guess thats a very unique scenario
  19. ??? i'd assume you use a DAC cable or 10GSR SFP+ module for 10G ethernet FC is different and not used with dsm also if you cant find a win7 driver then win server 2008r2 would be the better choice (same code base as win7) http://driverdownloads.qlogic.com/QLogicDriverDownloads_UI/SearchByProduct.aspx?ProductCategory=322&Product=1214&Os=190 win7 seems to be supported https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/brocade-1020-cna-10gbe-pcie-cards.2955/
  20. Nothing general I'd say I have a pci-e card with rtl8168e for testing jun's 1.02b (3617, only vid/pid changed), extra.lzma 4.7, dsm 6.1.6 fresh install -> no problems I will do a update test later (6.1.5->6.1.6) there seem to be unsuccessfuls with 3617 on esxi too, maybe nothing to do with the nic? i could do a test version with just the original kernel driver instead of the realtek driver if that helps also there is a entry with success with a 8111C - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.5 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.02b - DS3617xs - Using custom extra.lzma: YES - extra.lzma for DS3617 v4.5 made by IG-88 - Installation type: BAREMETAL Asus P5Q-EM - Additional comments: REBOOT REQUIRED from my extra.lzma change log [13.12.2017] new 4.3 with newer realtek r8168/r8169 drivers so if he used 4.5 it has the same drivers as the actual 4.7 EDIT: also tested update 6.1..5->6.1.6, no problems found
  21. if vmm can handle usb devices to the wind10 vm it might work, having a optical drive directly in dsm does need additional drivers i guess
  22. the interesting part for 6.1 would be the log when loading the realtek driver (on the booting/running 6.1 system), from the lspci with ubuntu 16.04 you did we already know the drivers needed for the hardware (r8169 for nic and ahci for storage) kind of crazy that it does get a dhcp adress and cant be reached/found in network, in theory when ping does work the network is up and running so it might be something else, but that thing should happen too when using a different nic i guess did you configure the real mac address in grub.cfg with 6.1? also disconnecting any additional hardware when trying to install 6.1 could be a thing
  25. please open a new topic then if you want to go deeper into 6.0
