Non ho capito, dove avresti installato Vmware?

Cancella qualcosa, senza sapere se l'allarme spazio insufficiente sia vero o falso, diventa difficile fare una diagnosi.

Come sospettavo, su EsxI e' possibile implementare l'HA, bisogna fare due VM identiche e dotare ogni VM di 2 shede di rete, una collegata alla lan da cui vi collegherete al DSM e un altra che serve solo a far parlare le due VM, quest'ultimo Visrtual switch lo dovrete configurare per avere una MTU di 9000, dovete assegnare due ip fissi ad entrambi i nodi del cluster,in questo modo funziona.

Leggevo anche io, ma a quanto pare funziona solo su macchine fisiche, a meno che non si possa settare l'mtu della scheda di rete virtuale a 9000 non so se e' possibile farlo su vmware workstation o virtualbox, di sicuro si puo' fare su EsxI

because i'm curious, normaly i build bios for my hackintosh, i have all the tools needed, software and hardware, i can program bios with programmer, i can desoldering smd chip, and i would like to do almost a real synology I have read something similar in this forum, but the user that did this trick, did not want to share how he did it, so it's possible.

Non e' complicato, e' delicato, si tratta di editarsi il bios della scheda di rete e di riscriverlo nella rom, niente di trascendentale, ma chiaramente devi sapere cosa fare. Ovvio che e' lentissimo, tu sostanzialmente passi attraverso i server synology. Personalmente preferisco decidere chi puo' entrare e dove, se esiste un firewall fisico non e' complicato fare un port forwarding, sono 3 porte in croce

Il modello di synology che usiamo come "clone" permette di crittografare tutto il file system, questo lavoro e' un carico per la cpu e per i dischi, ecco cosa intendo per crittografia. C'e' un topic che spiega come compilarsi i moduli per il kernel, ma non e' proprio alla portata di tutti. Ti consiglio di scrivere nella sezione inglese del thread che riguarda l'ultima versione di xpenology

My question, I saw a bios in DSM Software and it seems a regular AMI bios for mobo, someone over there do you know how it works a real synology without any DSM installed on it? There is a sort of flash disk on real synology hardware where is installed a tiny OS to boot and show web installation server? My insane mind start to think about a bios modification in a way to mimic a real synology hardware, if this should work we can midify bios and we could avoid the use of bootloader, but i dont know how works a real synology hardware.

Per le normali operazioni, non noteresti differenze, le noteresti se fai crittografia, in quel caso si che le noteresti.

Si puo' lasciare cosi', probabilmente bisognerebbe ricompilare il kernel aggiungendo il supporto specifico per gli Xeon

L'operazione per cambiare il mac-address e' un po' piu' complessa e va a fatta a livello "hardware" in funzione dell scheda di rete, a quanto ne so serve solo per utilizzare il quickconnect di synology e, ma non ne sono sicuro, la funzione HA ( Alta Affidabilita') sempre di Synology. Se se si usa un sistema come NO-IP o DYDNS, non serve il quickconnect di synology

Se vuoi utilizzare il nas come "live tv" scordati synology, non gestisce l'uscita hdmi quindi non potresti collegarla direttamente alla TV, se invece ti "accontenti" del DLNA puoi usare synology. Come hardware e' molto usato l HP gen8 perche' e' un completo miniserver con gia' i bay per i dischi, se invece vorresti assemblartelo da solo, il problema sta nel reperire il cabinet adatto dove mettere una piastra mini-itx con i relativi dischi, ti fai due conti e vedi che la spesa se non e' uguale e' superiore, quindi se vuoi qualcosa che funziona, Gen8 e minimo 2 dischi, con questo ci fai un nas di tutto rispetto. Ha tutto quello che chiedi, web, cloud e via dicendo gestibili con le app per IOs e android.

Modificare il seriale e' semplice, cosa ci serve? Una macchina windows, la chiavetta usb che usiamo per fare il boot della synology, excel e un file che ci serve per generare il seriale https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=AFD1164BAADDF81C!168&ithint=file%2cxlsm&app=Excel&authkey=!AAQuOGpVwRe7bu8 questo e' il file excel che dovrete scaricare, una volta lanciato e' facile da usare, abilitate le macro, scegliete il modello ( DS3615Xs nel nostro caso) e vedrete un seriale in basso al tipo di diskstatio, copiatelo. Spegnete l nas cacciate via la chiavetta usb e collegatela in una macchina windows, aprite la chiavetta e editate il file syslinux.cfg che avra' un aspetto simile a questo. Hi, I'm trying to setup HA with two of identical VM in terms of ram, cpu, processor, version and update, i'm using last nanoboot. My setup Hypervisor VmWare workatstation 11 every VM has two Nic, one bridged and other connected to specific lan segment so they can talk same hdd same ram, different name Start to create cluster i see errors about heartbeatd that seems dont start but no error showed, another error is about DDNS that i dont know why HA try to use DDNS Ip configuration for second nic doesn't matter because HA package set them for using dhcp that not exist in lan segment, so both nic acquire apipa IP address ( 169.x.x.x ) I suspect a sort of control in heartbeatd daemon. Io non ho cambiato nulla di nulla in merito a seriale e mac address e il wol mi funziona benissimo.

Come avrete notato e' uscita una nuova versione di DSM e ve la propone tra gli aggiornamenti, NON FATELO ripeto, NON FATELO pena il downgrade con possibile perdita dei dati, gli autori del bootloader per 5.1 ci stanno ancora lavorando, per cui abbiate pazienza e non aggiornate a 5.2
