  1. Problem solved via different route. Broke out an old router once used as extender and configured to match subnet xxx.xxx.0.1. Logged onto server , enabled Admin and set new PW. changed IP Status to DHCP. Swapped out temp router, all is back to normal(ish)
  2. Thanks for input. Indeed subnet has changed. from192.168.0.1 to xx1.1 everything else on the new network is set and I don't want to set the Router to 0.1. I will try for the static route Cheers GP
  3. All, Thanks for any input. I moved house, new router with new base IP. While at old house XPenolgy sever had manual IP and admin account disabled. New house, I boot server and see in Synology Assistant old IP address and Connection Failed, I select option to Setup to allow "wizard" to configure network. It asks for Admin PW. no matter what I input for PW it fails. I am (clearly) not an Network SME Cheers MF
  4. "built in Realtek RTL8111GR" - this is at least one of your problems, it may be the only one. have you read any other posts on this update? there are many.
  5. - Outcome of the install: SUCCESSFUL - Partial - DSM version prior to update: DSM 6.1.7-15284 - JUN'S LOADER v1.02b DS3615xs - Loader version and model: Jun v1.03b - DS3615 - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - AD2550R/USB3. - Additional comments: Previous attempt at upgrade failed. seems to be a problem with having 2 VOLUMES. 1 is RAID1 2xHDD, the other SHR with 5xHDD, second volume not found
  6. Roll Your Own TinyXP www.nliteos.com www.msfn.org/board/forum/70-unattended-windows-2000xp2003/ or DuckDuckGo will find you one
  7. - Outcome of the installation SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: N/A - Loader version and model: Jun v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Zotac NM10-DTX-D / DUAL INTEL PCI-E NIC - Additional comments: Tried a net new install to prove to myself that the ASRock J3455M was faulty (swapped ASrock for Zotac MB). I have 2 other ASrock J3455M and neither will upgrade to 6.2.2, using v1.04b both with PCI-E Intel NIC and both have no network after update.
  8. What am I missing? This is RAID 5 array with 4x8TB drives. you lose 1 drive worth for protection and the overhead of formats, file system and other guff. You will have roughly 21+TB to play with?
  9. did you remove the "old 1 TB drive" before plugging in 2nd 3TB drive?
  10. Are you attempting to go back to 6.1x or continue to upgrade to 6.2x?
  11. Search is not finding the wi-fi driver list for me, a link or input appreciated.... Cheers MF
  12. - Outcome of the update: UNSUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior to update: DSM 6.2.1-23824 update 6 - Loader version and model: Jun v1.04b - DS918+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - ASRock J3455-M Additional Notes: Single onboard NIC only (no lights on NIC after attempted update. Tried a fresh install by re-formmating the disks and same result. Installs okay but lights out for onboard NIC
  13. Another failed upgrade attempt and another fall back to 6.1.7....followed the input of SBV3000 1) Disconnect your raid drives 2) Connect spare HDD to SATA port 1 3) Install DSM 6.x from fresh 1.02b loader, create admin user and server name matching live system, DONT create volume/raid. Update DSM to match your pre-beta version 4) Shutdown, reconnect raid drives to SATA ports 2-n 5) Boot, login, repair system partitions on raid, shutdown 6) Remove spare HDD and reconnect raid drives to SATA ports 1-n 7) Boot, repair packages etc However one additional note. I have two volumes, one is Hybrid Raid SHR 5xHDDs and one volume RAID1 BTRFS 2xHDDs. I unplugged all drives and rebuilt only the BTRFS volume, Shutdown plug in remaining 5 HDD and allowed rebuild.
  14. Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 4 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.04b - DS918+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock J3455 M - Additional comments: reboot required
  15. I inadvertently ended up with 2 working systems both running 6.2.1 (DS 918+) and both with the same serial number. I have searched but can only find info on changing serial numbers for v5 and earlier releases. Any help is appreciated. MF
  16. Thanks for the explanation and quick response. I have a few hours to go with current rebuild before I can rework the "failed partition" Cheers MF
  17. Attempting to shuffle drives around in order to get more capacity I decommissioned a 4TB hdd from a 1 drive pool (no data loss as there was no data in pool) and a second drive from a populated Vol Pool. I pulled the 2 drives (and also removed a 2port SATA card). I replaced one of the drives with a higher capacity drives and powered system on. Took a long time to boot. I was expecting, and received a Vol Degraded message, however I also received a System Partition Failed for a different drive. System is currently rebuilding with the newly added drive but I am not sure what effect the failed system partition is or will have. The drive itself appears to be okay but I wont know until I finish the 1st task. All the data on the Pool is still intact and nothing else appears impacted. I'm not sure if I have question but has anybody else had a system partition failure? system: Baremetal ASrock J3455 DS918+ DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 4.
  18. Use the real MAC address from the NIC or MB you are installing on
  19. Sure....perhaps you should stay awhile and take a look around
