scoobdriver Posted February 11, 2021 Share #126 Posted February 11, 2021 @youhq Running DS3615Xs DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 with loader 1.03b works for me with the 4sag spk packaged hilo.ko , but not @v02max standard or 3617 hpilo.ko, or the one @IG-88 provided , (maybe something changed since these where compiled) I am also able to replace amshelper with the more recent 2.10.1 release (red hat 7) . I'm not able to see software though . does anybody know what the options are after calling Amshelper ? specifically -M1,5,14,16,18,23,99 (I think 99 must relate to the software monitoring) Thanks

yonesmit Posted October 8, 2022 Share #136 Posted October 8, 2022 (edited) Hi! I'm running DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1 for DS3622xs+ in a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 (Xeon E3 1260L and 16GB RAM). I'm trying to setup hpilo module without success. I tested the latest ko modules but are not acceted by the kernel (my kernel is 4.4.180+) even I downloaded linux-4.4.x.txz (it's 4.4.180) and renamed makefile to identify it as 4.4.180+ and the ompiled hpilo.ko. The module loads ok but it crashed when I call amsHelper. Anyone running hpilo.ko with 4.4.180+ kernel? is kernel 4.4.180+ source code available to complie the module? any other idea? Thanks in advance Best Regards. Edited October 8, 2022 by yonesmit
ADMiNZ Posted October 28, 2022 Share #137 Posted October 28, 2022 Hello. No one has yet made a .spk for DSM7 ?
WiteWulf Posted October 28, 2022 Share #138 Posted October 28, 2022 AFAIK you cannot run hp-ams on DSM7 as it requires root privs and DSM7 does not allow software installed via .spk to run as root. If you really want it to manage/monitor your hardware you could install ESXi on your Gen8 and run xpenology as a guest. There are loads of threads and guides on how to do this on the forums. jooi, what is it you want from hp-ams? There may be another way to achieve it... haldi Posted October 28, 2022 Share #139 Posted October 28, 2022 Mainly to get rid of the annoying message in the "storage" tab.... pocopico Posted October 28, 2022 Share #141 Posted October 28, 2022 @yonesmit Hi, from old notes, you will need a linux system and a process like the below : Kernel sources : https://archive.synology.com/download/ToolChain/Synology NAS GPL Source/7.0-41890 You can download the source and the toolkit for your platform https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/toolkit/DSM7.0/ds.broadwell-7.0.dev.txz/download I would extract the toolkit into $KHOME and the kernel source inside $KHOME You have to : cp linux-4.4.x/synoconfigs/broadwell to linux-4.4.x/.config cd linux-4.4.x echo + > .scmversion make oldconfig make modules_prepare In my example the toolkit is extracted inside /opt/dsm-kernel/broadwelll/ And then use a script like : KERNEL_SOURCE="/opt/dsm-kernel/broadwell/linux-4.4.x" KHOME="/opt/dsm-kernel/broadwell" function dsmmake(){ make \ CROSS_COMPILE="$KHOME/usr/local/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/sys-root/usr/bin/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-" \ CFLAGS="-I$KHOME/usr/local/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/sys-root/usr/include/" \ LDFLAGS="-I$KHOME/usr/local/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/sys-root/lib/" \ RANLIB="/usr/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu-ranlib" \ LD="/usr/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu-ld" \ CC="/usr/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu-gcc" \ LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$KHOME/usr/local/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/sys-root/usr/lib" \ -C "$KHOME/usr/local/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/sys-root/usr/lib/modules/DSM-7.0/build/" \ ARCH=x86_64 M=`pwd` modules $@ } cd $YOURSOURCES dsmmake
