lad75020 Posted April 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2014 Hello all, Many thanks to gnoboot for his release of 10.5. I booted my server using the newly built USB stick : no problem! I downloaded the DSM5 update 2 pat from http://ukdl.synology.com/download/criti ... 3612xs.pat I used the DSM update GUI to manually update using that pat file. 3 minutes later the system was rebooted with no configuration or data loss! Amari Posted April 5, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2014 Hmm, not for me. I have trouble updating my System. Already tried with Update 1 with the shell command from the other update thread. Did not work. Now I tried update 2 with new gnoboot image. Same error. Message says: "Update failed. File is broken." It showed up on both update methodes. Doesn't matter if manually or automatically. Any Ideas? Edit: just want to add something. ssh command says: DiskStation> sed 's/flashupdateDeb/flashupdateDeb1/' /autoupd@te.info > /autoupd @te.info1 -sh: can't create /autoupd@te.info1: Permission denied

XPEdoro Posted April 7, 2014 Share #19 Posted April 7, 2014 Hi, this is my first post so first i want to thank those guys who keep this projet running. I am on an n54l with trantors DSM4.3. Rocksolid. Nothing to complain. But the newer, the better. So tried gnoboots DSM 5. Update semmed to work fine. Usual problems with permissions and user "http" for the webserver. Only mariadb could not be installed. Therefore i had to downgrade back to trantor. Anyone of you is running mariadb? Any tricks when installing? thanks

chicagonyc Posted April 9, 2014 Share #25 Posted April 9, 2014 Is upgrading from Trantor's 4.2 possible? Or only from 4.3? And I don't fully understand step 1 -- is the file to be downloaded to any directory on the PC, or the USB key?
