Hi, My name is Rado. I'm a complete noob at NAS devices. I wanted to buy Synology, but at the PC store convinced me that it will be much better and more powerful if I build my own PC. So ... it is : Case : Fractal Design Node 304 Power Supply : Seasonic 400 W fanless Mobo : Asrock Z370m-itx CPU : Intel G4900 - will upgrade it later RAM : 16 GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX 2400Mhz M2 : 128GB HDD : At this point 4 TB Ironwolf. After all get to work properly will be 6x4tb, and probably remove m2. At this moment is with linux and nextcloud. But I find it odd... I want a software that will be easy to use by my family, will backup android, ios, Windows and be used as media server on my TV and audio receiver. I don't know am I on the right place, but start reading today. Hope for best

Bonsoir à tous, J'ai commencé au tout début de xpenology avec les HP NL40, puis j'ai laché et suis repassé sur du full Synology, mais avec les tv 4K HDR, Dolby vision et la fibre 1Gb symétrique, j'ai senti le hardware à la ramasse...donc apres une semaine de surf sur le forum, voici ce qui en ressort: CM : ASROCK Z390M Pro4 PROC: i7-8700 Ventirad du Proc ; Cooler Master Xdream Mem: 16GO Patriot RAM DDR4@2666Mhz PCI-E 3.0 - LSI SAS 9207-8i 8 port SATA Alim 450W - Cooler Master G450M Boitier Case Logic 2U - 12 Bays Cable SATA SAS SFF8087 Carte HP NC364T - Quad Port Gigabit Adapter 12 Disque Dur 8T Normalement je recevrais tout début de semaine prochaine, j'ai hate de monter la bete ! Hello there, I am only able to use 4 out of 5 sata hdd's witch are supported by my Mobo. When i take a look in the bios they are all up and running ?? So my question is why and how is this possible and is there a possible solution? Thnx in advance.... i3 8100 est ok pour Z370M : https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z370M-ITXac/index.asp#CPU et reste tu dis haut frequence du ram ? oO ?

Checking reviews of this board and see only one m.2 slot, there are pro4 version with one LAN port and two m.2.Does it works with pcie SSDs?Newer loader should accept m.2 ngff, as synology released expansion slot for those this year.Old loaders/DSMs supported just m.2 SATA spec SSDs.Using cache feature on few production systems.BTW cheap ASM1061 dual m.2 slot sata expansion boards works fine (50$),same as QNAP expansion board dual m.2 SATA (110$) but in has addinional cooling (yep, they are hot when used as cache 50-75C). Degraded by smart wear level for 30% past 12 month.Consumer grade SSDs (any way its mirrored and capped by SATA spec speed limit, 400MBps +/-) Off topic ,but maybe someone will find it useful.

Hello, I'm trying to do a clean install first time I have the image file I updated the grub.cfg file and changed the VID and PID and Serial and added what I have as the mac address (new system board never used) it's a Asrock B360M Pro4 I did a Diskpart and cleaned the USB stick then I wrote the boot loader to it and placed it in the new system and started it up, it booted to grub and I selected the first option to run JUN's loader 1.03b for 3617xs I received the screen about after the screen stops updating you can go to find.synology.com which I did and found nothing, then I downloaded the Synology Assistant and ran that and still found nothing, so I must have missed a step or maybe the mother broad wont work with the loader Any Ideas ? Thanks .....

I also want to have some VM's running but first want to get the NAS up and running and then PLEX I can have up to 64gig of memory which I'm thinking about maybe another 16 or 32 next since I would like to us the 16 gig I have now.

Can you please try install the i5-4670t CPU to the Asrock b85m Pro4 motherboard and see if it works? So we can see if it's the problem with the motherboard or with the CPU (instructions library missing? maybe vt-d or Intel Trusted Execution Technology is needed for dsm to work?).

Now...Test again and it will not work.It is not visible on the network after booting. i3-4130, Asrock b85m Pro4(intel i217v) add.. i7-7700T, J3455 work fine

Yesterday I've tried the new DS918+-loader (v1.03a2) with a valid serial number and Mac-address on an Asrock B250M Pro4 (Intel i217 LAN) with Intel Pentium G4600, 8GB Ram and 1x128GB SSD (just for testing purposes). It looks that everything runs fine at the moment. #Pentium G4600 (Kaby Lake-S, 2x3,6GHz, Intel HD Graphics 630) tested to boot: ok tested to video hardware transcode: ok (latest Plex Pass and Videostation) Yesterday I realized that after a reboot the system wasn't on. Maybe it was because of some packages I've installed via CLI. Will test further if reboot is working properly. At the moment everything is ok.

ASROCK B250M PRO4 изначально при старте вышел чуть по солидней и железа по больше будет 2x M.2/M-Key, 1x USB-C 3.0 *но не факт что сино будет это поддерживать на Gigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H просмотрел что LAN (Realtek RTL8111G) это у Gigabyte GA-B250M-D3H LAN (Intel I219-V)

Видно не судьба мне на моем железе заюзать DSM 6.1.х. танцы с бубном (квест) продолжаются. Контроллер заменил на Adaptec RAID ASR-5405Z .Не помогло, крашиться драйвер при загрузке, хотя в списке он как бы поддерживаемый extra.lzma. Все предложенные варианты уважаемым IG-88 не помогли (, В общем у меня два пути, либо..(с)КП. Уважаемые гуру что скажите по поводу вот этих двух материнок. Выбор не большой в принципе, все упирается в количество портов SATA 1..Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V LGA1155 есть проц I3 2100 и память для той материнки 2. GA-Z370M-D3H это на будущее так сказать ) Спасибо!
