RedPill - the new loader for 6.2.4 - Discussion
anibalin replied to ThorGroup's topic in Developer Discussion Room
Hey guys. I have found, at least on my case, that when the bootloader starts it should load the sata option (second one) and not the first one (default one) usb. -
Worked like a charm. Thanks for your patience and kindness mate.

Thanks for your reply Flyride. ls shows there are no folders and the cat shows the file just fine. (Just in case, yes I rebooted (within the DSM and but doing a shutdown and hitting play in the esxi itself).

Hi guys. I have successfully achieved the update on a test server but I always fail in the second one I have. I'm puzzled at this point as why it happens. Where could I get a log with more details? its a 3615xs on esxi 6.7u3. Thanks in advance.

Thanks flyride for the instructions. I uploaded the file, changed permissions, installed the 6.2.3 update, restarted automatically after the update, everything smooth.

Thanks bearcat! got it. Is is possible then to install it on a small ssd instead of relying on an external usb?

Hi Guys. I installed a Intel NIC and 6.2.1 its working just fine. One question though, but I'm not sure of the answer since I have read opposed ones. Do I need the USB if I shutdown the server and power on again? Seems that its my case since it wont load from any of the 4 internal drives now running DSM. I guess I can unplug the usb key once DMS loads but seems I need it to start the system. Thanks in advance for clarifying this.

Yikes! Almost there! What am I doing wrong now? btw I have to use http instead of https otherwise I get an unavoidable ssl error (don't know if this relates or not). Thanks again man! edit: fixed. I'm not sure what kind of black magic is under this (I mean it) since I decided to go to your first post where you address: https://server:5001/webapi/entry.cgi?api=SYNO.ActiveBackup.Activation&method=set&version=1&activated=true&serial_number="123400" and edited the data to my case and it worked. Moreover, I pasted the links, as a secure step, on a text only textedit just to be sure.

Thanks hoppler for this workaround. I feel like goofy here since somehow it tries to google te url instead of going directly to it. Tried http and https. Odd enough it opens the status successfully.
