  1. I cloned my DS1511+ flash drive and now it's working on the usb drive (using the original port not the USB on the back)
  2. Hi viktor, By any chance, do you know how to change the MAC address of the real synology NAS? Mine got corrupted and I was able to recover from using one image from a Russian user. I could change the serial number in the VENDER file, now it has the original one, but don't know where/how to do with the MAC address. Thanks
  3. Hi guys, I have found this article because I am facing a similar issue, but need help to re install DSM to my internal flash drive. My original message can be found here: I have downloaded the image from the Russian website, but don't know what to do with it. Is there a guide explaining how to do a fresh install? There is a zip file ds1511+boot.zip and inside another file: ds1511+.DSM5.2-5967.U.6.boot.ima (let's say I was able to re install, do I still need to change the MAC address/Serial Number vid/pid to make it work)? I can skip the above step if the only option to run DSM 7 is using an external USB drive (that's the main purpose, I'd like to run DSM 7 upgrading from DSM 6 originally ), but also didn't understand how to do it based on what I read. Any guide pointing me how to do it I appreciate it.
  4. Hi all, I am new here, never heard about xpenology, just found a page that could help me with an issue with a real synology NAS, anybody could that a look in my question I posted here and help? It will be much appreciated. Thanks and happy new year!
  5. @DSfuchs any ideas regarding my doubts?
  6. Hi guys, I need your help. I was trying to install DSM 7 into my DS1511+ using the method to make the unit think it is capable of. Unfortunately, I didn't make any backup of the drive because I didn't have any data on it. I also know the procedure because I've done this before. It was DS1512+ that I hacked to install DS1513+. After rebooting the system, it generates random MAC addresses every time and I can't reinstall DSM, it does not show up in the synology assistant. 1-Any ideas how I can read the contents of the drive? 2-Is there a way to reinstall the basic OS to recover the system to a point the unit can be recognized by the synology assistant? 3- The VGA port only shows this, but I don't know if it was showing something else before the issue. Using find.synology.com gives me an error. 4-I've never heard about xpenology, can I use it to reinstall the system? Will it be like the original one or will it act as a "hacked/similar" system? 5-Would it work if somebody shares a default image for me, therefore I can restore it to my disk? Any help is welcome.
