  1. I don't see a "clean" command in toy steps. Are you using the same USB drive? You may need to create a new USB and start fresh. I found that starting fresh solves many issues. Try adding this as the first step in your commands: ./rploader.sh clean now
  2. Have a look at this thread to get a better understanding of the TCRP build process: For DS 918+ try these commands: ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh serialgen DS918+ realmac ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh satamap . ./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/master/redpill-misc/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8152/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh backup ./rploader.sh build apollolake-7.1.0-42661 Don't bother with DS316xs on your hardware. DS3622xs+ would be a better choice: ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ realmac ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh satamap . ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/master/redpill-misc/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8152/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh backup ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 If you have already have TrueNAS installed use a spare disk (if you have one) to build your Synology nas. Use a basic configuration as possible without the Intel NIC and NVMe SSD.
  3. Is there a reason you need to use DSM6? If not, DSM 7 would be a better fit for your newer hardware. I have a Gigabyte B365M DS3H motherboard Core i7 9700 processor, 16gb DDR4 2666 RAM 4 x 4tb Seagate IronWolf hard drives Realtek 8125 dual port NIC Which platform are you trying to build? DS3615, 3617, 918, ...? How many hard drives are you considering using?
  4. Do you want to use the older loaders for DSM 6.x.x or would you be inclined to use the loader for DSM 7.x.x? Your hardware is new enough to build DSM7 with the new features. My motherboard has a 9th gen Intel processor and a dual port Realtek 8125. I have DS918+ installed and works like a charm.
  5. There are many post in the forum about successfully migrating to DSM7 from DSM 6. First backup your data. Then create a NEW usb with TCRP image from here: https://github.com/pocopico/tinycore-redpill Instructions in how to build the loader is at the bottom of the page. Choose the image that's right for your hardware or for a virtual environment. Choose your platform (I would suggest you use DS3622xs+) and follow the instructions at the bottom to build your loader and reboot. Use find.synology.com or the assistant to find your NAS on your network and you will get a prompt to migrate. Install the latest pat file for the DS3622xs+ and you should be good to go.
  6. Sorry.. that should have been: ./rploader.sh ext apollolake-7.0.1-42218 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8101/rpext-index.json
  7. You may need to add the driver for the Realtek NIC: ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8101/rpext-index.json Also make sure you are using the correct loader and your motherboard is configured for the same boot mode: UEFI or BIOS Enable “hot swap” in the bios for your hard drives. after you add the driver or make any modifications to the loader, you have to do the build command again.
  8. Have you tried to find your nas using find.synology.com or the assistant? There is not much displayed after the USB, VERBOSE screen. Can you list what hardware you are using?
  9. I can appreciate your inclination to want another bare metal build. That is also my preference. I have a Gigabyte B365M DS3H with an Intel i7 9700 and 16 gigs of ram with DS918+ as my choice. I have four ports populated with Seagate IronWolf NAS drives and I also have Plex running. I had 6.2 with Jun's loader until i recently upgraded to 7.1 Like @flyride said, it is possible to migrate to 7.0-7.1 without loosing your data. That's what I did
  10. Can you give more details please?... like.. What platform did you build? DS 918, 920, 3615, 3617? Did you build the loader with the 256gb SSD attached.. or did you attach afterwards? Do you have hot plug enabled in the bios?
  11. Just download the .pat file from the Synology download page and install. There is a 7.1-46221 (with update 1) that you need.
  12. That's fine, gutsy.. but fine. You still need to follow the commands above and change the serial to match the platform. The DS3622xs+ is the newer model to the DS3617xs and thus the difference. You should only have to migrate when done (with you real mac address) and also be able to restart without having to reinstall the DSM.
  13. Are you using the same USB drive you used in the old build? ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ realmac uses your real MAC address. The serial needs to be changed because you are building a different platform: DS3617 now to DS3622.
  14. There are necessary commands before the build process that you did not list here. You don't have to manually enter you pid, vid and mac like with Jun's old loaders. There are commands in RPTC that can do that for you. (The DS3622xs+ is a good choice to go with by the way) These are the commands I used to build my DS3622xs+ on a Gigabyte motherboard with a 6th gen i5 processor: ./rploader.sh clean ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ realmac ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh satamap ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 The loader will ask if you want to remove the old files .. answer yes Then sudo reboot. Give this a try and post your results.
  15. Can you tell us the specs of you build and list the commands you used for your build?
  16. I have installed DSM7.1.0-42661 with the DS3622xs+ loader. This was with the older redpill-uefi.v0.4.6.gz image. I have not tried the 0.8.0 image yet. I also have a PERC H310 mini flashed to IT mode (I know its slower but it works!) and using the onboard NIC. All the drives are recognized and are in order. I plan to get a HBA card soon to keep my drives healthy when they wake from hibernation.
  17. Yes I can turn off with the power button. Granted my hardware is a little different than yours, but you should be able to use your power button. These are the specs of my build: Gigabyte B365M DS3H Intel Core i7 9700 16gb DDR4 2666 RealTek RTL8125 dual port NIC 4 Seagate 4TB IronWolf Pro hard drives I know its a little overkill, but initially built it for TrueNAS and had 32gb of memory.
  18. Try your commands without "sudo" its not needed anymore for the build process: Also, why are you doing a clean command after the build? Are you getting any errors during the build? I'm assuming this is a new build so try doing these commands: [DS918+] ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh serialgen DS918+ ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh satamap ./rploader.sh listmods apollolake-7.1.0-42661 (to see what modules you need and add them) ./rploader.sh backup now ./rploader.sh build apollolake-7.1.0-42661 exitcheck.sh reboot I have never had an issue building a DS918+ with these commands..
  19. Do you get an IP address when using the TP-Link NIC? If not, you probably have a network issue. Check your switch and cables.
  20. What platform are you looking to build? I have a Dell R620 with a PERC H310 in IT mode, with the DS3622xs+ installed and running great. Do a listmods command to see what drivers you will need and then build your loader. Hope this helps.
  21. Its strange that you do not get an IP address in TinyCore. But looks like you have 4 network ports on your motherboard. Should only be two.. Is there another NIC attached to a PCIe slot? Send a picture of the motherboard inside of your rig. I would like to see you motherboard
  22. Did you get an IP before to build the loader? If not you can try any 1GB NIC that you may have access to.. Intel, Realtek, Broadcom etc.. Did you ever have another operating system loaded with this motherboard? Did you get an IP address then?
  23. With so little information to go on, it would be very difficult to assist you. What platform are you trying to build? DS3615, 3617.3622, 918, 920? What Guide did you follow? For example:
  24. When you do the satamap command does it say you have more than one SATA controller? I never do the highlighted command.. I like to keep those files.. But I do the backup now command. Very sorry to hear you couldn't get your box going. I have had much success with HP motherboards and DSM 7. Right now I have a Z440 running DVA3221 with an Intel 4 port NIC and a Nvidia GPU. HP Z230 running DS3622xs+ with no extra devices HP ProDesk Mini running DS920+ I hope you are satisfied with TrueNAS.
  25. tc@box:~$ ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ 008E25711489 Serial Number for Model : 2150SQRDJGWLA Mac Address for Model DS3622xs+ : 00:11:32:92:3E:9F Should i update the user_config.json with these values ? [Yy/Nn] Looks like the loader found your onboard NIC as well as the the 2.5gb NIC. [#] ========================================== pocopico.tg3 ========================================== [#] Extension name: tg3 [#] Description: Adds Broadcom Tigon3 ethernet driver Support [#] To get help visit: <todo> [#] Extension preparer/packer: https://github.com/pocopico/rp-ext/tree/main/tg3 and: [#] ========================================== pocopico.bnx2 ========================================== [#] Extension name: bnx2 [#] Description: Adds QLogic BCM5706/5708/5709/5716 Driver Support [#] To get help visit: <todo> [#] Extension preparer/packer: https://github.com/pocopico/rp-ext/tree/main/bnx2 Is 008E25711489 the real MAC for the 2.5gb card? If so you only need this command: ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ realmac You need to edit your user_config.json and change the MAC address there. You can add both for the 2.5gb NIC if you will be using that. "sn": "XXXXXXXXXXX33", - Your serial number generated by TCRP "mac1":"XXXXXXXXXXF0", - Your real MAC 1 "mac2":"XXXXXXXXXXF1", - Your real MAC 2 I use WinSCP for that
