I think the face detection use HW transcoding to works. Did you used a real SN ? go to telegram, have send all screenshot. Did you activate the functionnality ? You must in order to work.

Wich CPU ? If you used 9-10th Gen, cannot work, you have to change the i915 driver. Works fine with i5-8500t 918+ 7.0 (with native driver).

FYI, patch NVMe is not working on 7.0 918+, need to modify libsynonvme.so.1 binary. With i5-8500t, HW transcoding with plex works natively. Docker is ok, VM from VM station is ok. Everything works fine for the moment. I will continue the tests

Hello all ! Just FYI, if you planned to use baremetal with 918+, you MUST have an usb2 port. cannot works with USB3. Tested on M720q (no usb 2.0) not working, tested with adding a pci card USB 2.0, works fine.

I think we can try other method. Install from the 1.04b, upgrade to 25556, and then just boot from the new loader, maybe works... I will try the afternoon EDIT : not working, the new loader (with the same mac and serial) see the server as a new ds918+, even you have installed and upgrade it just before...

Hello Have a (maybe stupid ?) question. The firmware 1.04b has a limitation of number of CPU (I'm using 10660k). Problem, if I use the 1.03b (3617xs), have no hardware transcoding... Is it possible to add the hardware transcoding on 3617xs (via tweak or something) ? Or maybe tweak the kernel of 918 to use more core ? Thx

You have to install opkg, with binutils. Ffmpeg is on the repo

Hey All, Very intresting topic. I have installed a GT 1030 in a microserver gen 8, with DSM 6.2.3. I have compiled a custom version of ffmpeg, and still have the same error, cuda initialization failed. Driver is ok (I think) : Trying to install NVIDIA Driver :
