I could succesfully register one of your provided serials, but as soon as I want to activate the QuickConnect service I get the 'unknown error' popup message. Is it because of a not paired MAC address? I ask because even if I use my DS414 MAC & serial I get the same error (although it worked with update1 of DSM 6.1).

Using my DS414 serial & MAC worked before I screwed up something in my XPEnology NAS and had to reinstall latest DS3615xs DSM. No matter what registration data I use now there's no way to activate succesfully QuickConnect as I always get error. And all this is happening although I could succesfully register on account.synology.com with a serial generated by fonix232's web page.

I reflashed the USB stick, but the NAS still cannot be found. [emoji22] I connected a monitor cable and I can see the bootloader screen so I guess I need to mount the hard disks on the DS414 and see what else is going on. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with stock Samsung Nougat firmware

I'm sorry for that, shouldnt have written 'just unpack'. I just adapted original former postings off power-off-button to DSM 6.1. I edited my original posting... Synology has changed the serial format about two years ago. I suppose they noticed that a LOT more DS3615xs has been registered than sold, and such, they made the move to the new format. I checked with support, if you encounter the "invalid serial no format" error on myds.synology.com, you need to send an e-mail to them, with a photo of the serial number sticker of your NAS. They will send you a converted new format serial that you can register, and your NAS will be able to work through QuickConnect. Unless you want to use QuickConnect, though, you do not need to register your NAS or sign in with a Synology account. Also, sidenote - made a better serial generator (not better on UI, but hey it's WIP!). It's available at the XPenology repository on GitHub. There's also a (not yet finished) tutorial for using the 1.01 loader on bare-metal. All comments, recommendations are welcome. The repo also hosts all of Jun's loaders so far, with proper release markings. Unfortunately, no serial number can be registered I tried 20 numbers Same here. I unpacked your files in the root directory and now there's neither no web access nor can the NAS be found on LAN anymore. Any idea on how can I get back the network access?

For God sake someone please tell me a working solution to get WOL back working in DSM 6.x. So far I've found many ways to do it here and on the Internet, but looking now at directories in my NAS paths have changed and therefore WOL is not working.

The loader already changes your MAC address, though it is only needed for the online services to work, AFAIK. Changing the serial will NOT trigger a reinstall, though I have not tested this. My generator uses the exact same logic the Excel generator does, with the exception of only generating serials for the DS3615xs. Noob question: What if I change my current serial number and (real) MAC address of my XPenology machine to one of your generated ones? Will I need to reinstall DSM once again? Jun I've installed your latest alpha and I am running latest DSM 6.1.x stable on an ASrock H110M-ITX motherboard with Intel Core i3 6100. Although I've enabled WOL both in BIOS and (migrated) DSM the NAS doesn't want to go into standby. Is this still mandatory?? Even if I use Jun's Loader v1.02 Alpha and DSM 6.1.x? If yes what's the reason then? There is nothing mandatory about using a usb 2 port. It's just that some motherboards don't boot with a boot drive plugged on usb 3. That's it. Just try and see. If it works with the usb 3 port then great if not then revert to a usb 2 port. From a resource perspective it's a waste to use a usb 3 port just for a boot drive. Alright then and thanks for the information. I am thinking about building a custom made NAS (Intel Core i3-6100 based) by running XPEnology + DSM 6.x. I currently have 4 hard drives mounted in a Synology DS414 and configured as 'Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR)' with ext4 file system. Will I then be able to use their data content in the new NAS straight away or is it impossible to that without resetting/formatting completely the hard disks first??
