  1. As per title since my last DSM reinstallation I can't figure out how to get this DDNS service working (as it was before). Please reply ONLY IF you use it too. General advise is not needed as I already tried several solutions already. Inviato dal mio SM-G965F utilizzando Tapatalk
  2. Yeah DSM actually formatted and initialized the drive (I choosed basic / single drive), but that's all no other requests. Do you know FOR SURE if by reinstalling DSM I will be asked on what Volume I want to setup it? Also what method is suggested? Edit the VERSION file or? Sorry for going off topic by the way... :shy:
  3. @Polanskiman unfortunately DSM didn't ask me what to do with the disk so I gave up and ended by installing all my apps on that new drive and leaving the OS where it was. By the way isn't there a way to reset XPenology DSM installations like on Synology machines WITHOUT loosing your personal data?
  4. Oh great then and thanks for your fast and efficient response! [emoji106]
  5. So I ask you just to be double sure... I will have then the option to install DSM on the new drive or just some migration stuff?
  6. Perhaps @Polanskiman mate can you help me please? I am using everything in the signature (with the addition of a Syba card and a WD Purple 1TB hard drive).
  7. After having finished installing and configuring DSM in the new hard drive attached to the Syba card I have connected again the 4 previous hard drives to the motheboard and powered on the NAS. The problem now is that the machine keeps loading DSM from the 4 HDs instead from the new one... What can I do without having to format the 4 HDs?
  8. Nevermind the SATA connector was not properly plugged in lol!
  9. I got the card today, but when I run the NAS I get the 'No Disk Found' Synology page. What's wrong?
  10. I was going to ask the same thing and I am more than happy to know it is!
  11. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 5 - Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.02b - DS3615xs - Installation type: see signature - Additional comments: Requires reboot
  12. I am aware of that, but even with default OS installation and no extra packages enabled my custom built NAS does never hibernate while my previous Synology DS414 was (and the only difference was with the hardware parts and CPU). That's why I think it's just a matter of hardware compatibility?
  13. So far I've tried three different motherboards and although sleeping mode (aka stand-by) worked perfectly with other OS like Ubuntu, Windows 10, etc. there was no way to have it working with Synology DSM 6.x.x. Can someone please report here a mini-ITX / micro-ITX compatible motherboard?
  14. Thanks, might give it a look later today.
  15. Thank you for helping. Damn so I have to swap again the motherboard. Time to find one finally working with Synology standby then...
  16. I was planning to add an additional volume to my custom built NAS to avoid to use too much my 4 SHR RAID hard drives. Unfortunately I've ended all the available SATA3 ports. I therefore thought about using a USB3 external 1TB (mechanical) hard drive, but I wonder if it would work without problem when using it for Synology Surveillance System and for its records?
  17. Hmm I was going to use it for the same thing. I might consider adding an old hard drive for that.
  18. Then aren't you worried about your hard drives lifetime by having the NAS on 24/7? Although I used WOL on my previous Synology DS414 I kept getting disk errors from time to time.
  19. Can you please tell me if you can get standby and then being able to wake up the NAS by WOL with this motherboard?
  20. I gave 755 to that script from root user so shouldn't it be already OK? I too am already using the power button script, but unfortunately it only switches off the NAS and nothing else.
  21. Thanks I will read everything carefully later, but let me remind everybody that the NAS does not even go into sleep mode when using Synology DSM. On the other hand if I run ie. an Ubuntu Live session then sleep mode works flawlessly. :/
  22. I did already everything but this part. What NAT port should I map? The same one I use for a SSH connection to the NAS? Thanks
