@youhq Running DS3615Xs DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 with loader 1.03b works for me with the 4sag spk packaged hilo.ko , but not @v02max standard or 3617 hpilo.ko, or the one @IG-88 provided , (maybe something changed since these where compiled) I am also able to replace amshelper with the more recent 2.10.1 release (red hat 7) . I'm not able to see software though . does anybody know what the options are after calling Amshelper ? specifically -M1,5,14,16,18,23,99 (I think 99 must relate to the software monitoring) Thanks

That’s a plan I’ve had on my mind. Been waiting for a hba card to allow me to pass the drives. Got a h220 which I’ve flashed today and installed , working on baremetal, and a bit of extra memory. will likely try this route very soon. Don’t have a lot of experience with esxi so have just been playing around so far , and getting a grasp with a couple of small vm’s ive moved from a N54l to a fair bit faster gen8 so would like to make the jump.

Thanks chaps. A couple of things for me to investigate. flyride you have understood correctly. I have xpenology boot on a usb. I also have esxi on a microsd on the motherboard. I don’t think it has a vid / pid like a usb. Or if it does it’s assigned to the reader and not the card.

Thanks flyride. it’s not a loader device , it’s a microsd in the sdcard slot. It’s correct that it’s showing up, I’m just wondering if there is a way of hiding it. The loader is on usb and hidden correctly. I’m on the latest 6.2.3 ds3615xs with loader 1.03b (gen8 microserver baremetal) fresh install. Hard drives and ssd on a 9207-8i lsi card in IT mode.

Running bare metal on a gen8 Microserver. I’d like to hide the onboard micro sd card (which shows up / mounts as usb in xpenology ) I have esxi on this microsd which I’ll sometime change the boot order from the ilo to boot esxi .. I’d prefer not these to mount when xpenology boots. (Yes I can eject / up mount the sd, and ignore the drive , but would prefer for it not to show. )

Thinking it must be software related. As also running DSM 7.0 in a vmm on this box , and its super quick.

New install of DS918+ , 1.04b loader with Extra.lzma & 2 Everything seems to working fine, but logging into the web interface takes a very long time, Looking into video station web takes a while (once in it is fine ) Anyone come across this ?

I have VMM working with DSM Virtual image (DSM7) however I can't run any linux machines , all seem to stop with a kernel panic . Something like RIP raid6_avx21_gen_syndrome host is running DS918+ with loader 1.04b with extra/extra2 intel CPU anyone else found this ?

@flyride Many thanks for this guide ! I followed the steps in post 1 and now have access to my DSM from my iOS device which is fantastic. I do have a question, I am unable to see anything else on the DSM Lan . Do I need to be adding iptables to the wg0 config ? I'm also looking to route any internet traffic through this connection . I assume I would add 0.0.0.0/0 to the Allowed IPs in the phone wireguard config ?

Apologies you may need to use -a to see hidden files or folders. e.g ls -a or ls -la

pretty much as described. I created a new usb boot. With the variables I’d used before. Had to change the ( ids for the usb stock. ) it upgraded fine. I then had difficulty logging in the web ui. Found a post about deleting the /.xpenology folder and it works perfect now. (I think you need to be ssh as root to delete that folder ) I was also on 6.1.7 and that old folder had caused no issues until then. Ssh in. With a admin account. sudo -i (as root. ) cd / ls -l have a look of the folder appears. Is it does delete it.

I don't use the Synology services , and don't have a valid serial , I don't have Push service enabled (using email notification) I receive the message in the logs. (possibly after docker starts ) , is there anyway of stopping the machine even attempting to update the information ? Iv'e deleted a couple of Volumes and removed the disks (volume2, volume3) They do not show in the web Gui , but I see them in the CLI under the root folder . They also show in reports . Is this normal ? any way to remove or unmount that is persistent ?

I'm seeing the following in the messages log every time I log into the web GUI 2020-07-22T09:45:25+01:00 DiskStation php: Failed to delete keys [Removed Key]. 2020-07-22T09:45:25+01:00 DiskStation php: DeleteOtherKeyServer failed. (Iv'e removed the key ) Anyone have any ideas what is causing this ?

it actually works with the Broadcom nic without extra.lzma

Fixed by removing .xpenoboot folder

I have upgraded to 6.2.3-25426 with 1.03b I can't log in with via the web page, it sticks on loading like it has accepted my password. I can log into surveillance station , DSM mobile , and my web applications. During the migration / upgrade my IP address changed from been static to DHCP, but I changed that back via the command line.

Does anyone have any experience upgrading HP N54L from 6.1.7 to 6.2.3 Im using 1.02b loader DS3615xs , I'm assuming I replace with 1.03b DS3615xs and use a 6.2.3 25426 pat file to upgrade ? I don't have any additional Nic's etc , just standard bare metal

It hasn't its got all confused.. I think there is an api key missing or something.. I guess what I'm saying is, I can't login through the DS (just to check) , I can have it disabled,

Anyone know where the QuickConnect / MyDS config files are located, and how to reset to default, i.e Server ID, API key, Alias, etc.. Want to completely set to default and not use, (had been using my detail from my actual Synology, now it seems to have got confused, and Id prefer to just use port forwarding and DDNS)

Bare metal HP N54L Upgrade to latest boot image and pat file Lost IP address configuration, after correcting this and restoring configure backup , I can't see the Nas with assistant, and get a web station service can't be started error message in the web interface. ( I can connect , ping , ssh ( keep have to reenabling ssh ) but yet Synology assistant does not detect the Nas ) Anyone experienced this. ?
