toothpaste Posted February 12, 2013 #4 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) ... and you can use any mechanically lockable flash drive such as SD Card (microSD with adapter) as your USB boot drive. Create USB Boot Drive on SD Card using card reader. Lock SD Card. Now you are safe to use unwritable USB boot drive. U can use USB mini card-reader to connect SD card to PC. XPEH Posted February 18, 2013 #6 Posted February 18, 2013 After boot you also can eject USB drive with software, while keeping it physically plugged in for future reboots. Configuration is not saved on it and written not to synoboot, but to the system partition on the hard drives.
