pigr8 Posted July 18, 2022 Share #226 Posted July 18, 2022 @fbelavenuto i tried to manually copy the new mpt3sas.ko in /usr/lib/modules and reboot but it still shows ver 22....... i dont know why it does not load version 41, it should... @pocopico do you know why in tcrp it loads correctly the mpt3sas.ko v41 you compiled and in arpl no? even if the file is the same? is it missing something else? i dont think so but.. pocopico Posted July 18, 2022 Share #227 Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) @fbelavenuto @pigr8 The sources i used for 4.4.x mpt3sas compilation can be found : https://docs.broadcom.com/docs-and-downloads/host-bus-adapters/host-bus-adapters-common-files/sas_sata_nvme_12g_p22/Linux_Driver-RHEL7-8_SLES12-15_GEN35_PHASE_22.0_NVME.zip These are the latest that could compile on 4.4.x. Extract and use the generic_srpm sources rpm. You can use 7zip to unzip the rpms @pigr8 The addon loading mechanism will try to load addons before DSM does. Copy over the mpt3sas.ko to /usr/lib/modules and then pleaseexecute the following with root or sudo from DSM # ln -s `which kmod` /sbin/modinfo # ln -s `which kmod` /sbin/depmod # depmod -a Edited July 18, 2022 by pocopico
