Diverge Posted March 20, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2014 Did you use the method here for small updates? viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2049 ? I'm not on 4.3, but never had a problem using it with beta 5. The steps leading to this: sed 's/flashupdateDeb/flashupdateDeb1/' /autoupd@te.info > /autoupd@te.info1 mv /autoupd@te.info1 /autoupd@te.info you can put it in a scheduled task, after downloading the update, run the task, then hit update. andywhit Posted March 22, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 22, 2014 He mentioned this in his post I'm always in "DSM 4.3-3810 Update 4" For me it worked. You're talking about the DSM4.3-3827 update 1 version which is only available via the Synology DSM Update control panel (not an earlier version downloadable from here) ? mactron Posted March 22, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 22, 2014 So he has to update do 3827 first since it is a "big" update: http://xpenology.trantor.be/beta/ Afterwards you can update to DSM4.3-3827 update 1 as described above!

Same issue No real error message but always in DSM 4.3-3810 I don't understand In order to apply the small update using the DSM update process you need to apply the big update from 4.3.3810 to 4.3.3827 using Trantors Beta package. Once you have done that the 3827 update 1 should be easy. This thread explains how to apply the main update another guide here. You can get the beta file here. You can use this to write the image to your USB win32diskimager. Optional: You can apply the MAC and Serial number fix before you applying the 3827 update 1 patch via Synology DSM. You can get the patch tool that iceget developed here Vender File Patcher and here's a thread that discusses changing the MAC and Serial > iceget's post in that thread. CtrlAltDel Posted March 27, 2014 Share #17 Posted March 27, 2014 no When I disable my Internet connection, the button Update disappears I forgot this bit... You need to complete the download using the DSM before you disconnect from the internet, you don't apply the update until you have completed the other steps described in the guide/s. Same issue No real error message but always in DSM 4.3-3810 I don't understand You need to upgrade to trantor's DSM_4.3_3827 boot img first then you can apply small fix from web console other wise it won't work because your machine isn't a Synology and the boot img update won't apply. andywhit Posted March 28, 2014 Share #19 Posted March 28, 2014 As the guys above have mentioned, if you attempt to perform a major update (the 4.3.3810 -> 4.3-3827 is a major update) using the DSM update facility then it won't work. I had a look inside the major update files downloaded and it's basically a new .pat file from Synology, so this won't contain all the kernel tweaks etc used by xpenology.
