Esxi DSM 6 ovf deploy - Jun's loader

All i can say is thank you very much. Everything worked like a charm. My setup: ESXi 6 with PCI passthrough IBM M1015 (flashed to IT mode) with 8 drives Steps i have done: - Import new VM (configured with 2CPU - Shutdown old VM - Add PCI passthrough adapter to new VM - Set Memory reserve to the same amount as configured memory value (VM wouldn't start without) - Turn on VM - Manually install PAT from Synology - Everything worked - Update Packages - Update DSM6 to Update 9

XPEnology Configuration Tool & Bootloader DSM 6.0.2-8451

Let's assume we do have a working XPEnology 5.2 installation running with PCI-E Pass-through storage controlller, will a migration from 5.2 to 6 be possible with a new VM? So follow your installation steps for ESXi but PCI-E Pass-through the existing storage controller from old VM XPEnology 5.2 to new VM XPEnology 6 and it will detect a migration?
  3. Can someone post a tutorial how to update an XPEnoboot 5.2 Installation running on ESXi to v6

    Working DSM 6

if you boot with the iso of 6 it should prompt you to upgrade. and thats working? i thought the current situation is, that synology did not release the code yet and we have to wait for a new bootloader? are my information old?

    HDD Cache Management under VM?

Hi, XPEnology installed as a VM with IBM M1015 @ IT Firmware PCIE Passthrough with 7 WD40. XPEnology does have an option called "Cache Management -> Active Cache" what would be the benefit in activating this option? I already have R/W speeds of about 112MB/s into an encrypted volume. Thank you Kind regards
