  1. This is the very first tutorial, which worked right form the start - thanks for the great work @pocopico and @flyride. One question: Does BTFRS need direct access to the disks like ZFS or is okay to have virtualizies storage here?
  2. Hello there, I hope my question suits this thread. I had a security discussion with a friend yesterday, who told me, that the system partition can be easily mounted - this tutorial proves his point. He also stated that any authentication information would be saved in this system partition, in particular credentials for remote targets like form HyperBackUp, thus, anyone getting physical access to a drive of my Synology could access e.g. a OneDrive, Dropbox account. Is this true?
  3. Quick question, is there a summary aynwhere, whats they status (apparently no one know since the last post?) respectively a tutorial / something alike? Can it be used semi productively (always having a a few backups of course, but sort of stable?) If redundant please delete.
  4. I just set up a nextcloud and saw this: Es wird ein Hash des Passwortes erstellt und dessen ersten 5 Zeichen an haveibeenpwned.com gesendet. Danach wird eine Liste aller Hashes empfangen, welche mit diesen 5 Zeichen beginnen. Nextcloud prüft nun ob der Hash des eingegebenen Passwortes in der Liste der Hashes enthalten ist. (basically saying, only five first parts of hash are sent to HIBP, so maybe MS does the same, and its a fals positive..) @C-Fu Have you tried directly with HIBP?
  5. If I understand correctly, the password was individually created for this page...
  6. Well no denial is a sort of confirmation 🙄
  7. Hi there, first of all, I hope I am not violating any rules, secodnly big thanks to the guys running the forum, great job, and always friendly, thats not common these days in forums. So have set up mutliple xpenology installation via the past few days in all flavours, bare-metal, esxi, vmware player, proxmox, all works fine. Great tutorials! Since I do have a 10Gb NIC, I would like to try to avoid, using Intel e1000 on proxmox. VirtIO didnt want to work (of course I used extra.lzma from IG-88 + the two other files) as far as I understood this needs to be set as booting manually, however I couldnt find how. Anyway, what have I done? I followed this guide with only exemption to have vmxnet3 instead of Intel e1000. The loader mentioned above. Changed mac in grub, and got a serial form Jens Manders tools (thanks by the way for this, really handy). I tried adding a second NIC. I changed the PID and VID from an old working USB pen drive, and fiddled around. No succes, it alwys stops with error 13. Anybody has an idea? Many thank sin advance and also appologies, if I missed something, if it is inapropriate please delete or move. Edit: I tried 3617 with e1000, didnt work, now I am running 1.04 with 918+ - works.. will have to figure out whether this acepts vmxnet / virtio, to be able to use 10Gbit. So - vmxnet works, it only shows 1GB in the DSM, but transferrates are something around 230 MB/s (regular SATA, non raid yet, (will try NVMe)

@fab198 Could you post as flyride has asked? I think many other could benefit from it. Thanks in advance.
