I have been struggling a few months ago to get/brought to life virtio drivers under xpenology 918+ or 3617+ under Proxmox 6.4.
I was a little tired to find my failure, I'm sure I do something wrong.
I tried
a) insert drivers based on this article:

In this case I could create extra.lzma file with virtio*.ko files, copied to synoboot.iso with zImage and rd.gz files from appropriate pat (I tried 3 times: DSM_DS3617xs_24922.pat or DSM_DS918+_25426.pat or DSM_DS918+_24922.pat) file.
I added in 'virtio, virtio_ring and virtio_net' in the EXTRA_MODULES section on the rc.modules file, saved and re-compressed.
I created custom iso file to boot.
b) Create custom iso file based on this article:

where I downloaded required files:

and 1.03b_mod loader.
... and created custom iso file to boot.
In neither case I could load virtio network card. I have to use virtio network card for 10G network under Proxmox.
I can use Intel e1000 and vmxnet NIC only with 1Gbit speed.
Please could someone help me?
