  1. Gnoboot 10.5 is 4458. You can upgrade with Nanoboot to 4482 or 4493. I know, but my hardware ( Readynas pro 2 ) don't work with nanoboot, so I asking for upgrade from gnoboot not nanoboot. Now my nas working under 4482 installed from gnoboot 10.5 ( whit replace a few files ), and working well
  2. Can anybody trying upgrade from 4482 to 4493 from gnoboot 10.5 ?

  4. Change boot option only edit syslinux.cfg file - on the beggining is line: PROMPT 0 simple change 0 to 2 and nanoboot default booting in upgrade mode No, my mistake is DEFAULT line, but I don't know to match about vesamenu.c32 I'm grub2 user, which is newer and has become standard boot manager, in contrast to the syslinux
  5. Yes, all is ok but over nanoboot kernel not. Simple change kernel image on boot usb drive from gnoboot to nanoboot and vice versa. Under nano my shares is unavaliable, under gno all work fine.

  10. Do not worry to damage the ReadyNAS is not possible if you try to boot it from a usb stick. Just moving image gnoboot xxxvfat.img to usb key (no larger than 2GB - I used 1GB) with HDDRawCopy (Windows) and you start ReadyNAS-and with this usb key like boot devices. Don't worry about size of img it's don't matter. DD copy of integral boot memory has always size full flash chip The rest of the installation xpenology is described further. Good luck !

Led disk status is userless, but copy and reset buttons is a little userfully Original netgear kernel has a special module call nv6gpio.ko who "talk's" whit led and buttons.
