  1. Ok so this is for a straight to 7.1 install then?
  2. So does all this change the post update process update method that was previously documented? I’m slightly confused because I thought that was all working.
  3. Try disabling “above 4g decoding” in bios
  4. @pocopicois it possible to also keep the option not to auto add extensions except the misc one / in my case the mlx driver doesn’t work with the extension but works oob so I’d rather not include that one when I build or update. Others might see some similar results and might need to exclude an ext as well.
  5. We all appreciate the gurus helping the community!
  6. Are you using efi or Legacy, your device may not have a uefi bios
  7. Ok.. after a long ordeal, i followed the steps after working with @pocopico to get the HBA scsi stuff working. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure that you remove any SATA SSD CACHE that you might have enabled. This caused a lot of problems for me, once I was able to get back to 7.0.1 - I was able to disable the ssd cache, and then run the update using the steps again, insuring that I re-added the ext for mpt3sas, without that the system rebooted and did not see my drives. I am now on the latest 7.1 RC with 3622xs+ I hope this saves someone else a headache and I want to again thank @pocopicofor his hard work, not only with helping me for the past day, but also for the stuff he does for the community. I and I am sure everyone here really appreciates you! Chris
  8. ok so after the update, the machine shuts down - when accessing the gui, I have tried to run the SED command but I am now getting: tc@box:~$ sudo sed -i 's/^acpi-cpufreq/# acpi-cpufreq/g' /mnt/dsmroot/usr/lib/modules-load.d/70-cpufreq-kernel.conf && cat /mnt/dsmroot/usr/lib/modules-l oad.d/70-cpufreq-kernel.conf sed: can't read /mnt/dsmroot/usr/lib/modules-load.d/70-cpufreq-kernel.conf: Structure needs cleaning do I need to wipe this thing and start all over? or is there anything that I can do at this point? system is dead.

  10. @pocopicoyes, I have updated through the GUI the latest pat file - DSM completed the update and then rebooted, then before it started up, i went back to TC to run the update commands there and that is what I got.
  11. @pocopico using the update method for 3622 i am getting a ./rploader.sh line 61 error when running the postupdate command. seems like it has to do with mounting directories on the flash drive? here is a log tc@box:~$ sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218 jq: error (at <stdin>:1): Cannot iterate over null (null) jq: error (at <stdin>:1): Cannot iterate over null (null) Loader source : https://github.com/dogodefi/redpill-load.git Loader Branch : dev elop Redpill module source : https://github.com/dogodefi/redpill-lkm.git : Redpill mo dule branch : develop Extensions : Extensions URL : TOOLKIT_URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/toolkit/DSM7.0/ds.bro adwellnk-7.0.dev.txz/download TOOLKIT_SHA : 0d9edca67d9e7e14c2529bbb58341b623936124d5264f71f1e4acbacf3ea202d SYNOKERNEL_URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/Synology%20NAS%20G PL%20Source/25426branch/broadwellnk-source/linux-4.4.x.txz/download SYNOKERNEL_SHA : d3e85eb80f16a83244fcae6016ab6783cd8ac55e3af2b4240455261396e1e1b e COMPILE_METHOD : toolkit_dev TARGET_PLATFORM : broadwellnk TARGET_VERSION : 7.0.1 TARGET_REVISION : 42218 REDPILL_LKM_MAKE_TARGET : dev-v7 KERNEL_MAJOR : 4 MODULE_ALIAS_FILE= modules.alias.4.json Checking Internet Access -> OK Redpill sources already downloaded, pulling latest Already up to date. 12. Same with their SAS3 hba card - my pc would not detect the card when inserted
  13. The official synology cards have an odd pcie layout that seem to disable the card in a standard pcie slot - I purchased the latest version of their 10gig card from Amazon and the system did not even detect the card.
  14. This could be why smart data doesn’t show for SAS drives but does show for sata drives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That’s a good start but I was thinking more along the lines of - cores/threads that that kernel supports, HBA working/partial/non-functional / gpu support / etc. things like that
  16. I think for the sake of completeness we should have a post with the different available models and their different features and characteristics.. thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Is there any easy process for DSM updates or is that something that isn’t yet available? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Broadcom lists drivers for the card v41 v40 v39 and v38 I can provide download links If someone would be willing to compile as I don’t have the knowledge to do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I had that happen - my lsi controller was problematic- how are your hard drives connected? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Does it find it after the install?
  21. Is the Network card getting a link after the loader boots?
  22. So I am running 3622xs with an lsi 9305-24i - SAS drives do not show smart data however SATA drives Work with smart data as expected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. How to have DS3622xs recognize nvme SSD cache drive (Maybe works on other models). https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=107315&share_tid=58072&url=https://xpenology.com/forum/index.php?/topic/58072-How-to-have-DS3622xs-recognize-nvme-SSD-cache-drive-%28Maybe-works-on-other-models%29%2E&share_type=t&link_source=app Loot at this. Maybe what you need for nvme Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That disk that you are highlighting in the third image is a SATA SSD not an nvme. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
